    Default Spartan v2 guidence....

I have not been on here in awhile, hibernate in winter months. The question is I finally bought a Spartan. (pls no bashing :) ) I ordered
    . 540XL Water Jacket
    . Upgraded Shaft Kit
. 5 inch Rudder Offset Base w/ Dual water pickup
    . 4mm cooling lines
    .442 Back Cut (42x59) prop
I know I want to do 6s but im sure I will be told to run 5s...(Diesel) Is there anything else I should get to help my first launch??? I also am a proud owner of a sv-27 and MG, but just a Traxxas fan and had to buy..

Good on you! I also am a Traxxas fan. I just bought mine a few days ago, and have been running it stock. Have not had any cooling issues. The Castle power is new and works well, and they fixed the water intake on the rudder. Let me know how your 442 Back Cut prop works.

Sounds like you have it covered.

What did you go with for the upgraded drive shaft?

From Kintec Upgrade Shaft Kit The upgrade shaft kit is a direct bolt on with no mods needed. Kit uses a replaceable floating bushing to improve performance and last longer then the stock setup. Included is a new modified strut, strut bushing and flex shaft with lock-nut. $40.00 per kit

Is that Kintec rudder a direct bolt on, or are mod's needed to affix it?

760.jpg761.jpg762.jpg Modding needed for that rudder setup, wish I would of got the rudder from here but I jumped the gun as usual. Sharpen and balance my prop in AM, then will have some video for ya.

Looks like you are really straining that servo arm. Id suggest cutting out the bottom left of that mount. Go with three screws.

I flipped the bracket and used only 1 of the original holes (I think it was the bottom one) and I had to slightly file off one corner to fit around the trim tab. It seems to work alright. Let me know if you want some more pics.
