pitch is distance travelled...
37 x 1.4 x 4mm prop is what I use currently.
so pitch is 37 x 1.4 = 51.8mm per revolution
So in my case, on 3S:
2500 x 11.1 x 51.8mm = 1437450 mm/min = 86.247 km/h (~53.59mph)
And on 4S:
2500 x 14.8 x 51.8mm = 114.996 km/h (~71.46mph)
I recall you saying you had a 42x55 sized prop, from my understanding, 42mm in diameter and 55mm per revolution for pitch (1.25p)
You'd probably get a fair bit of bit with that prop, was it a 2 blade or 3 blade variety?
Comparing mine against yours, if you have a two bladed prop, you should be having a theoretical speed of 98.901 km/h or 60.95mph (with 2700kv motor on 3S)
Hmmm, I do have a smaller prop at home that would net me a higher pitch, with 58mm per revolution, but I doubt that pitch (1.7) is going to be efficient...
Have you tested your top speed with GPS or other?
I dint have a GPS to test and frankly, I'm scared to get to top speed yet

With pitch and multiple blades comes more amp draw.2 blade prop pulling 80 amps, the same 3 blade prop will pull 120.
What really is the point of a 3 blade
When speed isnt the option, change your ways
More bite on take off or out of the corners. The 1:1's use 5blades because they are hopping in and out of water.
If I had a 3 blade I'd have more torque twist and steer then I already have...

thanks for the amp draw info srislash, that's really good info! :)
It is my understanding, with more blades comes less slippage, offering more bite/torque as well as better high-end speed
The ideal prop has one blade... obviously these are fairly hard to balance LOL
Your torque twist could probably be eliminated by a longer rudder?
A three blade is usually slower than a two. There are frictional forces at work.Did you know that a drag boats prop is hot at the end of a run.
Really!!!! I did not know that, LOL that's crazy...
That's cool info

Seasons coming around, can't wait to see my little boat but idk about the miss geico, maybe sell???

Hey Mason been awhile since I was on here since I got busy with some things. Looks like you really revamped the ol girl. Looked really nice on the runs minus the dog coming loose.
CF Fightercat Daytona, 21 year old Hitec Sea Nymph, Genesis and many more to come im sure.
Yup, kinda depressing but she isn't fixed yet!

Ran it not too long ago- I had an extra brushless from my short course truck and threw it in- it's a 3600kv lrp x20 10.5t motor. On 2s it's perfect- perfect speed and it handles it and the motor never got warm after 15 minutes of going around the pond. On 3s it's stupid fast and I pulled it out before I could do any damage! On 2s it's just a tad slower than the 2700 on 3s and I couldn't be happier with it now. The miss Gieco is for sale now and I'm Hoping to sell it and get a 1/10 or 1/8 race buggy so I have something just for racing and my other trucks for bashing.
I'm happy with this little boat! A blast and it handles like a dream.

Hey Mason, glad to see you still around. 1/8th is a hoot. I have a few buds that do it. I just got my converted Revo going a while back with a 1518 on 6s. This little boat is still a goody for sure.
Here's the boat on 2s- I was driving and recording- and the steering was reverse lol.
But yea I'm selling my mg now and hoping to get a buggy roller and put my castle 2200, 150a esc, hitec servo, and run 4s

Holy crap! I just read this for the first time. It must be an OSE. record for longest thread. Very cool seeing you work through the build and come out with a great little boat. Looks great.
I just pulled my boat out of the cupboard, it is getting a complete rebuild, I should probably start up a thread for it if I get time :)
What sort of ESC are you running with the new motor?
I haven't got a esc yet for this combo- i was using this lrp x20 I believe and a turnigy 150a on 2s
I think I'll try finding a stock 60aesc for this small boat
