Default more rpm motor vs more cells ?????

ok so i own a mini bolt i currently have a 2600 kv 2 pole motor running on 4s with a 32mm prop and have reached my goal of 80 kph (50mph) now like every body else i want to push this boat till it explodes or fly's into a million bits...

What i would like to do is get it to 100kph if i can....

I don't know is should i go high kv motor 5280kv leopard motor on 3s so that's 58608 rpm i know that's insane but that's just me...and run a small prop???

    OR

a mid range kv 2950 leopard and run it on 4s thats 43660 rpm and stick to the 32mm prop????

I want to keep weight down were i can to max out the speed....

    Please help

You need some weight to keep it on the water! Go with the 2950kv Leo on 4S and start with the 32mm prop and work up. You might consider a bearing strut for even higher speeds. The 5280kv motor is more suitable for 2S, and would require a bigger esc and high C rating lipos to keep them from puffing (40C or better continuous, not burst).

The 5280kv motor is going to draw a lot more amps than the 2950kv motor, What size esc do you intend using with either.

A higher kv motor draws more amps ie better batteries and bigger esc what about 2 small 5sbatteries in parallel?

That is an interesting thought. I believe 4S is as large (fat) as you can fit in the hull. That being said, what about 2) smaller (1500mah?) 3S lipos in series (6S1P), running a motor in the 1600-2000kv range. You could run a Seaking 35A esc, and start with a 34mm prop. Just thinking out loud here.

Whoops! You're right, Alex. The 35A Seaking can only handle 3S.

If this Leopard 4 pole will fit you may consider the 2730kv on 4s with an x632.................that'll get you scootin'!!

Another motor to consider is the Tenshock Viper 5 pole 3200KV running on 3S. It is not on our website but is available from us.
