    Default MMEU 2012 Race dates

Sorry guys, we're having website issues that we'll get straightened out soon but for those that need to know here's a refresher from our last meeting.

    4-29 at Ford Field
    5-20 at Ford Field
    6-24 at Ford Field
    7-22 at Ford Field
8-17,18,19 P Shootout at Ford Field (17th is open water/setup)
    9-9 at Ford Field
    10-14 at Ford Field

As discussed at our last meeting, if the Wolverine group agrees to let us run a couple classes with them in Burton we will cancel our 5-20 date. Likely classes are LSH and Q Sport. We should have a diffinitive answer on this shortly.

Yes sir and yes sir. Your boat would fall right into Limited Spec Sport. Often referred to as LSH. We really need to break that habit. LSH isn't the right acronym.

We just put the course in last night and should be out next Wednesday evening to practice and break stuff...er....I mean test our boats. haha Stop by and see what's up.

Sure there is. Go to www.namba.com

Click on resources at the top and then "rulebook" That opens a PDF. You should be able to click right onto chapter
28 which is the electric section of the rule book. The classes are broken down into power levels first (see page 94) and then into various hull types. Each power level has a length limitation. A 4s powered boat would be limited to 34"max for instance. For each power level there is a separate class for each hull type. The UL1 is considered a "sport hydro"

So a UL1 falls into the "P Limited" power spec
34" maximum hull length (page 96)
    Sport hydro (page 97, 98)

    Clear as mud.

So you're "P Limited Sport Hydro" If you have any questions or concerns be sure to stop by. I'm NAMBA District 2 director and I have the national chairman's number on speed dial. Between myself and the rest of the gang we can probably answer any question you can dream up.

We have a hodge podge of boats that run in the class. I think the most popular today might be the Phil Thomas boat. We have in the from memory......the Thomas Stealth, Insanes, Whiplashes, UL1's all running together. I'm probably forgetting some.

Ok I look forward to racing sometime. I used to race on road carpet touring cars. This should be a fun change. Thanks for all the info.

There are no prop restrictions for this class. Most UL-1 runners end up in the 45mm rage for racing. However, I would reccomended an Octura X442 Balanced and Sharpened for now. Make sure the boat is not generating any unwanted heat from other components.

I race with the GrimRacer SpeedPacks... I would suggest any pack that is 5000mAh and 30C or higher discharge rate.

I've been partial to Hyperian. They hold up really well but are more dough. I tried some Thunderpower 65c last summer but I didn't feel they measured up to the hyperians. Plenty of power but didn't hold up like the Hyperian. The chemistry seems to keep changing with all of the companies. They all seem to get better with each generation. There are some guys running Turnigy for 4s. You really don't need 65c cells for the spec classes. 30c+ in plenty.

This summer I'm running old Hyperians for offshore and Limited mono.

Grims in our expereimental SVr class.

I'm not running Limited Sport myself. Something had to give and the boat is in dissarray. I'm already on the hook for 16 heats per race plus being useful to the club so I wont's miss spec sport.

Then for Q sport I picked up some Voltz from Propshop and I have some Dinogy cells on order from Performance RC that I plan to beat up too. That boat is a good amp gobbling test bed for new stuff.

haha It's a typo. 45mm range. Some of the boats can handle an Octura M445 once their singing perfectly. An Octura X442 or a GrimRacer 42x55 are good places to start.

    Hey Howard...

    P-Limited Sport Hydro
    P-Limited Mono
    P-Limited Offshore
    Q Sport Hydro
    MMEU Stock/Spec SV-27R class

In most cases we will add another class if we can get a minimum of 3 boats...
