Okay Folks. Here is the flier for the First District Race of the season. It's held at Greenbrier State Park south of Hagerstown, Maryland. There are plenty of classes for all FE's. Let's have a great turnout!! If anyone has any questions ask away!! If you plan on coming, let us know. I do plan on attending. Don't forget to review the combined FE/Nitro rules in the D12 section of the IMPBA web site forum.

Sorry you can't race with us Mike.

The race is at Greebrier State Park. It cost a couple bucks to get in. Drop by and say hi.

After you enter the park, drive down the hill and make a right at the split (toward the boat ramp).

Cool. Keep an eye on the weather. For now looks like 40% chance of showers Sat/Sun. Bring the foul weather gear.

We had a fun weekend at the first district race of the season. Turnout was a little light due to a few big national races being held this weekend and next. Weather was supposed to be horrible but we woke up to a beautiful day on Saturday and it lasted through early afternoon. Things were a bit more soggy....and thirty degrees cooler today but we decided to run on more round before more heavy rain was due to arrive.

As for the racing, The FE's had a pretty good weekend. I'm pretty sure FE's won every combined class heat. Doug's P-Hydro whipped the nitro guys in Open Nitro/FE Hydro with a perfect score. Carl's big twin Insane Mono easily did the same in Open Nitro/FE Mono. Doug and I had some great racing in P-Mono. We finished 1 (Doug)-2(Me) every heat lapping the rest of the field in the final heat. I'm glad to say I finally have the Insane mono dialed in nicely. In B/P Lim Tunnel, my new TS3 couldn't have run any better. I lapped the entire field in the first heat and easily took the win while my 14 year old on John got a DNF when he hit a flip flop of all things. In the second heat, It was my turn. I was leading the pack and nailed a turtle in the back stretch, sending me into the mud, sight unseen for four laps. Finally I popped up on lap five and luckily no one hit me. No damage to the boat except for a small crack in the transom and tiny ding in the skeg. John took the win that heat with his VS1. In the final heat John got a good start with me slightly behind. His boat was a little faster but the old man passed on the inside of lapped traffic while he went wide and I was able to take the win in B/P-Lim Tunnel. John did take home his share of wood taking B/P-Lim Hydro with consistent driving. He made the old man proud this weekend!!

That about covers the FE side of the race. It was a great race with no dead boats hits, very few buoy cuts and no burned out equipment. Best of all we had a couple new FE racers run with us. Doug Twaits Jr. came down from NAMBA1. It was a pleasure meeting him and all his boats ran great.

Next race is the Carolina Showdown in Greensboro, NC on the weekend of May 12.
