Default Let's get Ready to RRRUUMMBBLLE !

May 19 AND 20 in sunny Fort Pierce Florida !
It has been called the Wave Blasters Invitational in the past few years.
We have decided that the invitational sounds a little "golfy" so we are looking for a more boat race type name ?
For those who don't know this is our annual race.
We wanted to get the dates out so everyone could plan for it and not be on
    short notice.
    Classes TBA
Name of race, open for suggestions ?
    Sponsors? Always needed !
Good time, had by all !
I can tell you that our club BBQ will be on Saturday along with practice and maybe some class racing?
Hope to see ya there !

    Sounds good guy's
Not bad Jason, I had thought Treasure coast cup, another idea was Indian river cup, as the pond is in Indian river estates ?
We could call it the Fla. Cup ?

    Default Wave Blasters Spring Classic

    "Wave Blasters Spring Classic"

    Hey Terry,
    Just a thought....lol
Not sure what other ideas for the name we will get !
Thanks also for starting this race thread.

Anyway here is a class list from the 2010 wave Blasters Invitational Race.
Certainly we will be adding some classes and as discussed.
We will probably have to run a few on Saturday (late) afternoon.
I think we do all agree that the classes raced Saturday
will start and finish the same day no carry overs.
This way racers can show up as a one day race if they choose to.

    Here is the previous list:
    -Sv 27- Stock
    -N2-Mono
    -P-Spec Hydro
    -P-Mono
    -SV27-Modified
    -P-Limited OPC
    -LSH (Limited Sport Hydro)
    -P / Q-Offshore (combined)

As you mention Crackerbox, 1/10th Scale, N2-Hydro, & LSO have been discussed as possible additions.
Let's see what the feedback tells us on the classes.
The LSO or spec Mono class had been proposed as a Saturday class in hopes that our regular SV 27 guys could run an additional class that aftrernoon. This could be an offshore or just an oval race. We could even run a 3 minute offshore to include the cats.....just some thoughts.
    Thanks,
    Ken

    Guys,

Sounds like a great event again! Count me in. LSO would be a good addition, lots of guys here on the west coast running LSO as offshore for cats and mono's.

Will the P-Q offshore be running full 4 minute heats or by laps?

It's still not listed on the rcracingevents.com site either. Hope it starts getting a little more organized as the time gets closer. I'd still like to find out if the P-Q offshore is going to be 4 minute timed or a preset number of laps.

Sorry guy's hopefully things will get under way this weekend.
I think the P/Q offshore was a timed event last year, I see no reason to change it, but we are always open for suggestions.

I was mostly asking because my Q cat won't make a 4 minute heat. We run 6 laps on the offset offshore course at Ackerman and it will barely make an extra penalty lap before hittiing lvc. Not really a big deal though. I have a P cat that will make 4 minutes.

Will this be getting listed on rcracingevents.com to make for easy sign up and to see how many boats are in the classes?
I guess you aren't going to have a P mono class?

I'll be signing up later this evening. Might bring the SC but will most likeley run my mean machine P twin for the P-Q offshore. It will make 4 minutes but don't think the SC would even last for 3.

Got the registration done, now need to get a room reservation set up. Does anybody remember the name of the hotel/motel that we used for the FE Nats? I plan to ride over Sat morning and stay overnight.

Just finished making the reservation there at the Best Western. The girl was really nice and asked me if I had stayed there before. After looking it up she gave me the same rate as last year.

    Default It's Official "Hotel Rate"

Sorry for the delay, but Ron Desmond was able to finally get some response from the Best Western in Port St Lucie about hotel rates for our race.
The rate will be $59 per night just like we had gotten for the Nat's last year.
Even if you have already reserved a room, just tell them (the Manager) that you are here for the Wave Blasters race. You will get that rate.
Since this is the only decent hotel near the pond that is the only place we have secured a race rate. Here is the address and phone number.

I have also attached their promo to describe the hotel and location.
We now have 26 Racers and 92 boats entered.
    See everyone next weekend,
