Default Anyone sharpen the bottom area of the outboard?

About midway down the prop the "rudder" section of the outboard starts. Has anyone sharpened this area to see if it makes a difference?

    Thanks,
    Ray

I will be carefully sharpening my Stiletto 29 outboard skeg and also truing both sponsons of the hull. I expect more stability with the hull and less drag on the outboard. Combined, I anticipate better top speed performance and handling.

Boat ran amazing in glass calm pond. Improved handling due to the hull. Later ran in the chop on the big lake. I'm very happy with the result.

I am planning to blue print the bottom of mine. Did it make it any faster? I have read that you need to scuff bottom after you have sanded, applied fiberglass putty, sanded, primed then painted. What do you use to scuff the bottom?
