Yea I am pumped. It looks like it might be a 35mm range of Mig not sure. I been flying the hell outta the J-Power 50mm edfs. I have the L-39 and the T-33 (which is SICK, wicked power and tricked out). My buddy had the J-Power Mig 15 and it had a WHOLE lot of issues, mostly CG issues. It was very difficult to get to fly properly. With the AS3X and E-Flite written on it... This is gonna be SICK. If the keep the price inline with there other nice umx planes should be OK. If the get above $175 with the price, might be a tough sell especially since most hobbyist can build a J-power 50mm edf into the 100mph range for that price.

    post some pictures bro!
I think a small EDF could be fun.. I have two bigger ones
    One is a F-14 with twin 55mm fans and a F-18 with a single 64mm fan
but with this gyro would make for a very smooth jet

It's about time Horizon got into the scale foamie EDF game. The Habu is a great plane but I much prefer a scale fighter.

I had a Nitro Planes 50mm T-45. It was a great little plane and tough. The only thing I didnt like about it was it sounded like a hair dryer on crack. I sold it to a buddie and bought a 70mm F18 from bananna Hobby. Good looking plane, flew nice and quieter fan, but it was made of styrofoam. I made a dozen successfull flights but all it took was a bad hand launch by one of my sons friends and the fuselage was totalled!! I ordered a replacement EPO fuselage from Nitroplanes.

Don't know if the AS3x is really needed in a EDF but what the heck. It tamed the UMX Beast. I owned version 1 and version 2. V1 was a handfull even with D/R and expo turned down. V2 is a totally different animal.

Oh man, I love my UMX Beast V1 and think it goes great.. so the V2 should be smooth as silk

V1 was a real rush to fly and it really steepened my learning curve. I probably like it a little better IF flying conditions are perfect. V2 is not quite as fast though it has a higher KV motor and it doesnt snap manuevers like V1. Dont get me wrong, It's more maneuverable and quicker than just about any other micro except maybe the Sbach (which I have never flown). But where V2 really shines is when the wind is kicking up. Without a doubt the most stable micro made. I can fly her in 10-15 knot winds no problem. No bouncing around in the chop. No problems landing. Hovers a little better than V1 but still not a 3D airplane. If I run a battery dead and motor dies, I just pull back on the elevator and she'll land nose up every time. A totally different airplane than V1 but still very cool.

The dang Beast also got me hooked on Biplanes. I'm waiting on a motor from Canada to finish up a Multiplex Gemini. Soon I'm going to have as many planes as boats. LOL

Yea the stock J-Power fans sound terrible. I been using the wicked wemo fans from Donsrc.com this guy is the MAN when it comes to edf in the 50,55 and 64mm range. He's a great guy to do business with and his dynamic balancing is AMAZING. My T-33 sounds smoother then my PKZ Habu and that's saying a lot. My Habu is still my pride and joy! Add a couple of HTX900 servos from Hobbyking and these little 50mm edf kits go together without any issues and talk about cheap speed. Those htx900 servos are $3 each lol and the 30amp re-branded hobbywing esc is like $15. CHEAP SPEEEEEEEEEED! Ill post some pics and a little vid later today of my T-33. I do have a stock vid of my L-39 on my youtube page. You can hear the "busted hair dyer" sound lol.

    Here's the L-39 I had:
    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html

Here's video, this was the first edf I ever flown. Made of EPO TOUGH little plane to break.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fg0cL...7&feature=plcp

    * This was the first and second flight, after I turned the expo up and it smoothed out the straight and level flight. All stock.

    Check his youtube sick: http://www.youtube.com/user/dslusarc
This guy is awesome to do bis with and great prices. Yea a lot of the BH and NP planes are often underpowered and cheap electronics. The CG is a issue with a lot of them, them typically come in very tail heavy which you know can lead to stalls. You have a watts meter right? If you have a smartphone check the android and should be also on the apple market for a app called "rctools" hhas a cool watts table that you enter how much your model weights including batt and it will tell you where you watts should be. I added over 100 watts to a NP edf just by getting rid of the stock lipo and using a Sky Lipo from Hobbypartz. Same cell count, just better lipo.

Here's my T-33 setup, I went with it simple for battery compartment room. In my L-39 I could only get like a 3s 850-950mah size batt, in this I've fit 3s 2200mah batts in, but typically fly with 3s 1600-1800mah range for weight and cg purposes.

Just so you guys know... these RXs are created with STOLEN software, and are counterfeits... These are NOT "Spektrum" RXs...

I know nobody really cares about that kind of thing in this hobby (well... I do... but that's just me)... but I figured it was worth mentioning.

Yea Hobbyking is notorious for that. Traxxas hates them for stealing there stupid traxxas plugs. A lot of guys at my field use these in high end models talking $2000 and up. I use them in "less expensive" models. For products that I LOVE i.e my pkz habu I use the ar600s. Sadly I have lost all faith in the ar500 rx's. Lost of birds lost to a issue with that rx. Darin you know I am a DIE HEART Spektrum/PB and HH fan, and out of respect I can gladly remove that link incase people don't know about the.

I actually do care about that kind of stuff, sometimes it gets hard dropping $60 each for a rx.

In a dive maybe, straight and level it's in the 60mph range. EDF's LOVE the high rpm's. All that rpm and only 25amps lol...

My Habu is faster. Crappy video with a headcamera but fast forward to 1:25 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuoAt...2&feature=plcp

They haven't made the "offical" announcement of it yet, so no links yet. That's scheduled for 2/1/2012. Reason the video came out so early was the release of the Great Planes F-86 forced them to make some type response (so I've heard). The GP F-86 looks cool, but this looks AWESOME!

Just the announcment not the release. Horizon will stick to there normal. Announce a product and it should be available hopefully by June or July lol. Only thing I don't like about Horizon, the E-Flite Hurricane is the perfect example. Its been so long I've lost count, still not in stock.

Tower announced the F-86 a few weeks ago and the release date is soon if not already out. Said end of Jan. That's the way it should be. I typically buy more from Horizon though. If they got a membership program like Tower and released stuff in a resonible time after anouncement they would make A LOT of people happy.... jmho.

Horizon always has the guys on RCGroups' panties in a bunch. But even though they fall behind on their delievery dates, they keep putting out a good product. In the end, everyone is happy.

I'll be looking forward ot the new micro EDF's coming out and hopefully some larger EDF's also. I have had a few of the Banana Hobby and Nitroplane EDF's. They look and fly nice but I wish quality was a little better and they were a bit more durable.

I'll be looking forward ot the new micro EDF's coming out and hopefully some larger EDF's also. I have had a few of the Banana Hobby and Nitroplane EDF's. They look and fly nice but I wish quality was a little better and they were a bit more durable.
Yes there products are amazing. They discontinued the parkzone habu which is really shocking (and disappointing), but can only mean they have something else up there sleeves to fill the gap. After all the pkz habu was a huge hit! I know I LOVE mine!

I also have a lot of planes from BH and NP. The eps ones are junk, but my epo planes are just fine. I normally modify them in some way, they tend to be underpowered out the box.
