Default Venom getting into gas boats?

    http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...39#post9493336

Kinda shocking to me to see this company going in a boat market. I wonder why they picked the style vee boat they did when they choose great looking cats. When ever I see that style I think NQD. Seems they could of picked a better boat.

Thanks for posting that. What do you think of the speed. Seems slow?

Ok so at first glance I thought WOW. This hull looks nice. After further inspection the canopy is way to big for the hull. Oh and then there is the fact that it's a SLEAD. It's about 1 mph from reverse. Thanks for the post how ever. Always kewl to see now products.

FOR A 1000.00??? they must be smokin some good stuff! even for 700. me not think so! The Maritimo even with packs would woop the snot off those for around 700.00. MAN, what is it with them lately. Most have never liked them but at one time I did. They basicly copied exactly the HXT 120A esc and almost trippled the price on those. oh well, a sucker born everyday I spose.

Well you got to give them some credit.......... the pictures look nice!

as for the speed I think a Traxxas Villian would run circles around them

That really made me laugh because its almost true.

What makes them so slow compared to other RTR gassers? On RCU the Venom rep saying the speed claim and hp are just modest claims and with proper tuning are more higher. The motor is a 260 clone.

Don't really matter to me I'm not in the market for a gasser

SJFE, I thought the cats looked good. Guess you have to be a cat connoisseur to pick the hatch detail out. I did notice the vee was not good looking though. Just gotta work on my other hull styles.

    Hey guys,,

The King of Shaves hull, is 5FT long!!! They say 30+ mph, I think that is very good concidering the Blackjack 55 is over $1000 and will only do 30+ out of the box... Everyone seems to have fun with and like the BJ55, so I honestly think this will be a OK boat...

I have a RTR Warehouse Hobbies Enforcer 46" V-hull with 26cc Zen.... They will do 40+ out of the box, but also cost $1300-$1450 RTR!!!

These big gassers can be alot of fun!!

SJFE,, I would have never noticed the canopy issue, I acually think it looks good!!

It takes ALOT of power and torque to move a 5 foot hull past 30mph..... What other 55" RTR will do over 30+ and has real offshore looks,,, for $1000 bucks???

drop some BAMs in there or some 3080's...electric is so much more efficient than gas...less moving parts....

But then you would have a $3000-$4000 dollar boat!!!

I think it would make a good FE conversion,,, mabey a Neu 2230 and CC HV-240 with 10S2P 6000mAh 25C lipos in parallel....
