Well I hit 62 mph on 6s with the motor I used from my impulse 31 1800kv, 120 esc,
boat ran like a bat out of hell for about 3 min then died in, where else but the middle of the lake, at first I thought I was out of range but NO! not that simple so I paddled out and
got the boat in my raft and opened her up only to see that motor wires burned in half.
the gps said 62 mph flat, I just said wow I hope the esc is ok, so I got her back home and put the esc in my impulse and it's ok. I can't say what the temps were because of the time laps of getting the boat back.
Not sure if the motor is fried but I don't think it is, I took it apart and no visiable damage but the burned thru wires, I'll try and solder some new wire onto the wires that are left and test it out.
? is why did it burn the wires in half ?, to much voltage for the 1800kv motor, to long a wire on the motor ?
It did not unsolder the connection, no cold joint.
batterys are 5000mah 40c-50c burst turnagys.
no problems with the hull as I reinforced it with foam and it's quite stiff.
the esc handled 6s w/o disconnecting the bec, it's also a turnagy.
ANY THOUGHTS ?
