Here's a fully loaded LSH heat. Watch close around the 40 second mark as Brian “wheelies’ out of the turn and down the straight. I thought he was going over but he saved it and I’m pretty sure he took the heat. (it’s pretty easy to lose track through the viewfinder.)

Brian and Scott with the dreaded STD class. They told me I couldn’t run with them any more unless I changed motors so I shot video. I’m reasonably sure that this was Scott’s win.

We had a great turn out today and I think the "run schedule" is going to work out very well. Thanks once again for your video work Bill

As always quite welcome. And a thanks to both you and Chris for this little production.
Here’s the 1st outing on my Promise Hobby Falcon cat. The video has some subtitles so it’s fairly descriptive. I’ll just add that after the final section of the run that the hottest thing was the caps on the esc at 155*. Second were the motor and battery bullets at around 145 motor at 137.
I think I need to add a little more positive to the strut angle or possibly move the cg back a little. I’d prefer to do it with strut adjustment though. I like my cats around the 35% mark. Overall I’m happy with it’s 1st outing.

Nice vids, he wasn't doing a "wheelie" . He was minimizing his wetted surface drag!

The 2nd LSH heat for the day. I take no credit for the camera work on this one. I was playing pit man for Chris and handed the camera to a youngster who happened to be standing there. He didn’t do bad. Chris had a good run going ‘til he found that buoy. Win goes to Larry.

This has been a pretty mild winter here. You should make the annual migration with Larry (truckpull) and Brian (encore man) (just to rub it in)
While you're in here... what do you have the cg on your falcon at?

The second LSO heat for the day. Hugh and Scott had a pretty good race going until Hugh made it a repeat performance of round one. Only one boat finished this one. Scott’s win.

With all the buoy eating going on today, I saved the best one for last. Oddly enough that’s the order it was shot in as well.
I’m happy to report that the rudder with more setback and a wider blade cured the full throttle cornering problem with my Mean Machine twin. Unfortunately it did nothing for my driving.

No cats were harmed in the making of this video.

Just got lucky Ron. He was having problems with his steering rate being set too high. 2nd heat he got me.

Very welcome srislash. The buoy is still pretty much there. It's "pristine" compared to the ones Hugh & Chris hit. We are going to replace a few of them next time we go out.

Not a normally scheduled run day but the weather was too nice to let get away. So, a few of us met at Ackerman for some test n tune time.
First up is Ray’s Phil Thomas Sport 21 “LSH” hydro on it’s maiden run. Looked pretty solid for it’s 1st outing.

    http://youtu.be/GaRttquWH6c

Next up is “new” Bill’s H&M Skater cat after he moved the cg a little forward and a different prop. Looked to be handling a bit better and speed was pretty good too.

    http://youtu.be/EvU3TaaBYAs

The 1st wetting on Ray’s twin Genesis didn’t go quite as well as his hydro. It lost the prop & stub shaft on the port side. Made fir a very short run.

    http://youtu.be/ej7jfCNIx7E

Chris out for a solo spin with his Pursuit 32. It runs pretty well and wasn’t overly hot even after a penalty lap for the buoy cut.

    http://youtu.be/KlT_b7hKY48

Last one today is my Promise Hobby Falcon Cat. Bottom of strut raised to 1/4” above the sponson bottoms. Prop changed to a back cut and detongued X460, still running 9s 2p. I’m guessing around 65 in the straights with this setup but still can’t make a full noise corner with it. I kind of lost track of laps and only ran 5 instead of 6. At least everything inside was still nice n cool. Hottest items were motor bullets at 125. The motor itself was like 113.

A few of us went to Ackerman even if it was windy. This is a run on my old 54" Expresscraft Arapaho after re-fitting it with a Leopard 5692 1000kv motor, Turnigy 180 esc and running 6s 2p.
Started out with a X452/3 prop just to play it safe and it barely got it on plane. After running a few laps changed over to a X455/3 and it made a noticeable difference. Still no speed demon but the detune did get rid of the nasty chone walk it had when it had the CC 2028 in it running 9s 2p

A little P mono action with Chris, Brian (encore man) and myself running.
I'm really not all that impressed with GoPro video for recording race action. It might make a nice HD vid but the field of view is just too wide for being able to tell what is actually running.

Now that the GoPro vids are out of the way... Here's Ray's twin Genesis cat testing one of the Fightercat twin esc's. It worked good for a little while.

More testing on my Promise Hobbies Falcon cat after removing about 1/2 of the skeg below the prop line. It did improve the handling in the corners but it still wants to dig a little. Time to remove the rest of the skeg and see what that does for it. On the plus side it did handle the chop from the 10-15 mph wind very well.
Hey Ray... I think that odometer reading on the GPS might have been right after all. Count the laps. (That might explain the 130 degree reading on the motor too.)

Rob's little Arrow Shark self righting mono. For a small boat it handled the chop there today really well.

That pretty much wraps up what was shot today

Hey gents. Chris mentioned to me that the gate now has a pad lock on it. I spoke w/ someone at the county and they are supposed to call me back so we can get it straightened out.

Bill, if your unhappy w/ the go pro I may be interested in it for other activities if you decide to part with it.

It was not a good start of the morning as it rained pretty good about 15 minutes after getting boats set up on tables to prep for running. I was really surprised how much water mine took on with the hatches on but not taped. After the rain passed it was actually a nice day until about noon when the wind really picked up.

1st run is my just finished Titan 33. Not exactly what I'd call a success. It cornered pretty well but was a terror on the straights with chine walk and literally jumping out of the water on occadion. It's a GoPro vid so bear with it.

A round of LSO also shot with the GoPro camera since I was driving at the same time.
I wasn't running legal, driving my Mean Machine twin to find out if it could survive a full 4 minute heat. That way it can be used as a P Offshore boat in an upcoming race.

Here's a partial round of P mono. After my new Titan went upside down in the 1st corner I grabbed the good video camera and started shooting the two remaining boats.
