Not a bad day at Ackerman today. We had about a 9 mph breeze from the east most of the day with occasional higher and lower winds speeds. We actually did some racing today too.
1st video up: Dave doing some early morning testing on the Titan after putting a new motor & ESC in it.

Our 1st actual heat of the day. Hugh's Whiplash vs Pat's Oberto in a round of LSH.

A partial video of a round of Q Offshore with Rich & his Spartan. Hugh and myself running Sprintcats. Ron told me he accidentally bumped the mode button on the camera. We actually ran a full 3 minute heat but lost some of the video.

1st time I've had this one out since repairing the hatch. Ron volunteered to run camera for me again. Still a little too much breeze to really let it loose on the offshore side. Down the front straight seemed to work well enough though.

A little intermission after the 1st set of heats and we let some of the visitors toss in their boats. Rich flipped his Spartan (again) in this video. This time it almost sank as it broke the upper deck loose from the lower hull.

I sat this heat out to run the camera and shoot some of the other boats running in an unofficial P mono heat.

Finally. The last upload to Youtube finished.
Ron ran the camera again for this round of P mono that I was driving in. I cut a buoy but still managed to take a 1st place finish in this heat.

Took a ride over to Lakeland with my flying buddy Brian today for the last day of Top Gun.
Wound up shooting way more photos and video than I realized I was at the time. Still working on uploading it at this time but the playlist will be here when it's all done. The 1st video is all photos and put it up at the full 1080 resolution. The actual flying videos at 720 to cut down on processing and upload time.
I think my own personal favorite of the day will be video number 7 once it gets uploaded. That's the one with the 20 foot wingspan B-29 that carries up and releases a model of the X-1 rocket plane.

Video number 7 is awesome Bill. Thanks for posting it. The temperature finaly hit the 70's up here. BG
Enjoyed the videos, thanks for posting them. # 7 is my favorite also.
Nice... that was fun to watch. #7 was cool, and they did a heck of a job flying some of those in the wind we had yesterday.
where did they get the real f14 in the background?
MY RETIREMENT PLAN?????.....POWERBALL
74 vintage kirby clasic hydro, pursuit mono, mg, 47'' mono, popeye hydro...
Thanks guys. Good question on the Tomcat Ron.
The event was geld on the back side of Lakeland Linder airport so I'm guessing it might be the airports?
I saw a real L-39 take off from there too. Didn't shoot video as he was waaayyy over there. I think there is one photo of it in video 1 though.
The Tomcat belongs to the the Florida Air Museum located on the airport's property.
now if it just had a couple of pratt tf 30's it would be ready to go lol

After a month of inactivity with our club a few of us made it to Ackerman today. Most of our course markers have disappeared and there was only one left. Summer is definitely here and it gets hot pretty early in the day. I think we'd all had all we could handle by about 11:30 this morning.
Only a couple of vids today.
A clip of Dave with his Titan running with Rich and his Spartan.

Here's my newly finished AM Avenger on it's 2nd run of the day. Thanks Dave for running camera. Still have some work to do on this one. It's pulling way more amps than I expected for a Neu 2215/1Y

Bill, where is your strut set on your avenger? Is it the 36"?
Today it was at 1/4" above the sponson bottoms. Next outing it will be at 3/8". It is the 36" version. There's a short 2 page build thread for it over on RCG http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1868901
I was gonna say, it looks like its a bit low based on the sounds it's making.
A handful of us went to Ackerman today and the weather seemed to cooperate pretty for the most part. The rains held off until we were done and the water was even nice and slick for a change.
1st up is Chris with his Mean Machine twin on a 5s GPS run. some footage of Scott's 4s Cheetah twin as well
http://youtu.be/5x2sxLnGSJw
More testing with the Avenger cat. Drive line set at 3/8" above sponson bottoms. Octura X452 detongued prop. Good speed but the ESC thermaled after 5 laps.

A little footage of Scott's 4s Cheetah twin. I just caught the end of the run though.
