    Default Newbie Mystic Repower Questions

    Hey guys,

I've had my Proboat mystic 29 for a few months now and I've been itching for more speed (41mph gps with s/b stock prop). I just ordered the keda 4074 2364kv/SeaKing 180 combo here on ose. I plan on running 5.5 bullets on everything. I gonna use 4s now maybe 5s in the future. I have a dimension engineering sport bec. Do I need this? If so, how do you install it when you are running series packs? Is there anything else I need to do before dropping the new motor in?

    Thanks

That is a lot of motor for that hull and 4S, you will want a smaller prop to keep amp draw reasonable. A 2200 Kv motor would have been plenty but since you have the Keda use it with care. 5S will be too much for sport running. The SK180 has a built-in BEC so you will not need the DE BEC. Exactly what packs will you be using - brand, C rating and mAh?

UPDATE!! I got the motor/esc installed and went out for a run today. I bet shes doing all of 55mph using a prather 215 on 4S. Getting about 6 min run time with motor/esc running cool. Overall I'm very happy with this setup. Will try to get a gps on it soon. I'm gonna try a few different props.

Yeah I cant believe everything went so smooth for me putting the new motor/esc in (knock on wood). I tried a smaller M440 prop today and it seemed to pick up even more speed. I just bought a garmin gecko on ebay for $30 cant wait to see what shes doing.

It looks like I'm having a party by myself here...

52.0 mph with batteries farther back today. Anyone think I should prop down more? Im running a M440 on a keda 2364kv on 4s.

I think you pretty much squeezed it all out.

The motor is warm with the M440. Ive tried a x442 and a x438 and I didn't get the speed i did with the m440. So I Think ive maxed out this setup.
