What is the measurment of the sponsons from the inside of the tub to the inside of the sponson?
I am reworking a old 70s wingding and would be intrested to see what your with is.
the wing ding is 32" long and moving the sponsons out and foward will put it at about 33"-34"
this will be a 6s set up for now.
I will post a new thread soon on this project, will call it WingDing resurrection.
Finally got to get out and play with something we wanted to today.
Still needs a bunch of tuning. But still Lots of fun.

i am watching this thread steven as i have a sport hydro hopping also......some say put weight in rear others say change prop etc....let us know if u get it fixed....
MY RETIREMENT PLAN?????.....POWERBALL
74 vintage kirby clasic hydro, pursuit mono, mg, 47'' mono, popeye hydro...
Lightly cup the hopping prop near the outer edge of the blade.
We only ran one 2 5s packs in series. Next time out I'll run the 4 packs to make 10s2p. The weight and balance will completing change, so I'll be interested to see what happens then.

That change in weight could do it alone.
Steve;
drop the strut aprox. 1/8" and keep it level.
With the ABC line of props they lift alot. keep the strut level.
if the back end still hops, you will have to actually adjust the strut positive by just a hair
to remove the hopping.
If you dont like the way the boat is running after that, then switch over to a 14 or 16 series Octura prop. (still keeping the strut level)
Steve , I use 457 /460 / m 62x80 . 3060/8t. 10s/2p . 2 4s packs in front and 2 6s packs behind those, 5000 mah. Cheers ,Jay.
nice boat steve ..also using a 2028.. what prop for 14s?? :)

14S is far too much for the CC2028, that's 40,000 rpm unloaded while the factory says not to exceed 30,000 rpm. Plus 40,000 is SAW territory, not for sport running or oval racing. If you want that kind of voltage, it's better to use a motor with a lower Kv. BTW you can't get NAMBA or IMPBA insurance for a 14S boat....
.
ERROR 403 - This is not the page you are looking for
thankyou , any updates on this 10s boat ?
