Why not go the tried and proven route first, then upgrade and modify since you are new and learning.

I've had a half built one on the back burner for a while, been thinking about a 28mm Leopard. Or the setup everybody uses if I decide to go the inexpensive route. Unfortunately not too high on my list of boats to finish, unless some of the other guys I run with decide to build them. I built it out of scraps left over from a 1/10 hydro build one afternoon when it was raining, really only needs sponson tubes and electronics.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

These are very nice boats and better suited and if you have a bit to ride it. For those who ride well these boats this is often faster than you think or want. It's very hard to handle at start but when It starts then it's a treat to watch. It sure looks very cool having nice features and technology.
