    Default sv27...velcro wont stick!

has anyone else had probs with trying to get velcro to stick to the inside to replace the wooden battery holders?

ive tried the 1" and 2" wide 3m velcro from kintec and neither stick too well, about 30 mins after applying it seems to unstick, ive tried 3 other types/brands and all do the same, some come unstuck faster than others.

im going to try warming the inside of the hull with a hair dryer and see if this helps the adhesive become abit "stickier",i just wondered if anybody else has had the same probs?

    thanks lee

Definitely a problem in any hull. I have tacked down the corners of the velcro with CA and they still come up when I run. I think I'll just epoxy the 2" velcro strips into my SV27 next time & hope for the best.

Many resins have wax in them and it floats to the surface when curing.

Would we have better luck if we sanded down the area inside that the velcro needs to be applied, in the case of the wax being an issue?

I would clean the area with solvent to remove the wax before scuffing.
