Don't know... but wouldn't it be cool if it were an R/C V22-Osprey!?? I am in no way affiliated with any other department there, but that would be something pretty cool...

Funny you said that, because that's what I was thinking would be awesome would be a V22 or a F35 or harrier with functioning vtol.

The videos were eluding to this: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=EFLU4780

I am actually pretty disappointed on this one. For all the effort in building suspense and escalating the whole "this is gonna be cool" thoughts in our heads, they just didn't deliver. I don't understand the Hyper Taxi theme at all & personally think it makes the whole model come off completely cheesy. They would do well to release a variation with a simpler or more adult design scheme of some sort so that the guys who are on the fence about trying it don't have that extra reason to skip it.

That and I totally wasn't expecting this unveiling to be an ultramicro model. That alone was a let down. The videos made it seem like it would be something larger & much more powerful.

The AS3X in it makes it something new, to that extent. But I've seen depron foam models set up like this before (minus the as3x). It just doesn't feel like anything all that groundbreaking. Which is fine... but the videos made it seem like it was going to be something completely new to the RC world. So again, big letdown.

Being a huge plane guy, I'd be interested in atleast trying one of these, definitely... But the style and design on this really makes it unappealing for me. I wont be buying one.

On a side note: I would have saved up for as long as it took & sunk hundreds into a Harrier or F35 with some kind of VTOL system.

I like the idea with the new as3x or whatever stability system, should help the future direction. I like the idea of 5 new releases, that was unexpected, but I myself am extremly disappointed with the offerings. Nothing new will be added to my wishlis anytime soon

I am just gonna patiently wait (and continue waiting) for the E-Flite Hurricane. It's gotta be released sometime right , it's only been pushed back 6 months or so...

Not being a airplane guy, maybe this sounds to simplistic, but it seems the AS3X is geared towards micro flying. Why make the first offerings larger models? Wouldn't the guys that like much larger planes say why the heck do I need this?

I'm not saying that I wanted the AS3X system in a larger plane. I was just saying that the way that they were trying to build suspense for a groundbreaking new offering in their flight line of products, the model that they did this for came up really short.

Agreed that they AS3X system makes the most sense in the ultramicros, and that larger planes don't have as much of a need. The AS3X is not brand new, and is not the product itself that this marketing campaign was unveiling. It has already been available in a small collective pitch heli. I'm sure this will help get that feature more attention now, but overall, I'm just very disappointed in what they did here for, as the model they hyped so much isn't very new & groundbreaking.... and it's painted up pretty silly.
It's a gimmick type of model, really. Most plane guys probably won't be very excited or interested and the heli guys might even laugh. It'll be a lot of fun for a few flights but aside from taking off vertically, it really just does the things a 3d-capable depron plane can do, but it does them in an uglier package.

We got our hopes up for something much cooler and more exciting I guess is all I'm saying.

I hope lots of rc people do enjoy it. Maybe it'll build some interest from the younger crowd and get them into the hobby earlier. I didn't try an aircraft rc until I was 26 because I knew nothing about them & they seemed really intimidating.

The beast is a cool revamp, the gee bee is also kinda cool. I'm just not digging the hyper taxi thing at all. I didn't like the looks of the vto tower has, just to novelity for my liking and not digging the "taxi" theme at all, jmho. Out of the 5 new products released the mSR X is the only one on my wishlist. This will be my first heli, so looking forward to it. I heard the orginal was easy to learn on so the revamp should be that much better. Hopefully I can get my heli skills up to pair. Would like to get into larger (maybe 3d) helis. I like the Blade 450 x. Outta my skill level though, I better start logging some more heli time in phoenix!

I agree the hype does not live up to the actual product for me!
the vids looked like we were going to see something very cool in the way of a heli or Harrier
I would love to see a flybarless Blade 250
and again this news in not groundbreaking
this 3-axis technology has been around for a while as we see this in Quadcopters and flybarless helis

The only real complaint here is that they were overhyping something secret that quite frankly, isn't that new or groundbreaking as they claimed. There was already the same model (minus the as3x) from electrifly and I think I've seen others as well, and they all look 100 times better than the Hyper Taxi.

I said previously that I hope lots of people do like it. But it's my feeling that many will be disappointed like I was.

I do really like the Beast 3d, and since i was never able to get the first one, if I find a cheap one at a swap meet in a year or 2, I might get to have one. The GeeBee doesn't look that good to me, but I can see how that plane would atleast appeal to some crowds. We haven't had an ultramicro geebee yet that i've seen, and it looks like that model will definitely need to take advantage of the as3x, which is great they paired them together. The GeeBee is more groundbreaking than the Hyper Taxi in my eyes... and without the awful kiddy paint scheme.
