Any progress is always exciting to me, just means it's that much closer to being done. Looks as good as ever Scott!

    Awesome.

Good news, your hardware showed up today. Its installed and the stuffing tube has been tacked in place and is drying. I hope to get the tunnel carboned yet tonight. After that, motor mount and battery tray install and your just about wrapped up. Certainly will ship this week.

    Pics to follow

That second layer of carbon looks bitchin Scott! Did you have to re-drill for the hardware or did it work out? I guess the servo mount will be put in with the motor mount and trays?

    It did come out purdy

LOL oh yeah, that too... and some other things. Itll all be there, dont worry.

Yeah, I had to patch all 4 holes and start over. No biggie. Just an hour delay. top two were pretty close, just a tad closer together and a tad lower. Bottom two again a tad closer but quite a bit higher. made installing the bottom nuts a lot easier though.

    Can't complain there.
If we are able to ship Wednesday, I'm actually going to have it shipped to my parents house. It should come in Saturday (if shipped Wednesday) and I'll be back home this weekend. Still in PA, zip is 19454 if you need it. I think my dad's just as excited as I am to get it lol.

I'm starting my own FighterCat Daytona build, got the hull a couple weeks ago, and the hardware too, just waiting to clear off the credit card for this month and then buy the motor/ESC. Anyways, just curious if the carbon fiber bottom re-enforcement is must do mod or not?? I'm going with a 1800KV motor and T180 ESC, 14c nimh/4s lipo set-up, nothing crazy. The hull feels pretty solid as is, do i need to add glass/CF?? Thanks!

It is not necessary. I raced one for a while and it was not carboned. I never had an issue with it. Solid hulls.

Got the motor mounts, servo mount and battery trays in this am. Will need to remove my mock up motor and reinforce the mount to make it more secure. Gettn closer Chris.

I'll leave that to you, just somewhere out of the way (not dead center of anything).

Thanks Jerry, the plan for this boat is to be painted like a Ford GT40 Gulf race car / Ford GT heritage theme. I have pretty much all the decals I need (minus a few from FC), just need to talk to my Grandad about painting it (professional painter/body man).

Cool, thanks tiqueman!! I'm watching/studying this build thread, been a long time since i've built a cat hull but this seems like a pretty stright foward build. My only concern is getting the motor mounted in the right spot and getting the CG right so it handels well!

Gimp, where did you get those hatch decals? I'd like to put some on mine to add even more scale look to the hull! Thanks!

Yes sir. I made an ESC mount bracket this afternoon. Just used 2 1" pieces of aluminum and drilled 5/16" holes every 1/2". Should do the job.

I got them in the FS section from monojeff. I snatched up the deal pretty quick lol.

well then... whoops LOL I put one in. I just did a simple carbon plate.

I think your done Chris. I did not cut the shaft because I dont have any leopard motors readily avail to put in it and make sure the length is coorect and/ or not sure if your 3 piece coupler allows the shaft to go all the way thru. that being said, do you have a dremel w/ a cut off wheel?

Spectacular Scott, the anticipation is a killer haha

I have a whizzer with a cutoff wheel. When I cut to length, do I need to do anything to the cut end other then smooth on a grinder?

Will the boat be ok to ship tomorrow?
