Default NEW MYSTIC - What batteries are you running?

    Hello All,

Real high quality forum you guys have running here, having the actually people who developed the boats giving feedback is unreal!

I just ordered my first FE boat after months and months of waiting for a good product to be released (nearly bought the original Spartan early this year which would of been a mistake).

Easy question, I have on order the following:

    4 x 5000mah 45~90C Lipo Packs -

I've used similar packs in my trucks that are powered by castle electronics and they go hard.

Would these packs below be suffice to run the mystic?

Also thoughts on the following packs in the mystic:

    Capacity: 5000mAh Discharge: 20C Constant / 30C Burst ?

    Thanks in advance

    David

20c packs arent recommended with boats but your motor shouldnt pull more than around 50 amps +/-, so 100a constant with the 20c's will work, just wont be top performance and they may run a tad hot.

    Thanks,

So ill just stick to the higher C rating Lipos (45-90C)? and Give the 20-30C a miss......for the time being, hopefully they arrive PRIOR to the boat!

Also anyone know what Pro Boat has its LVC set at?:

    About your Speed Controller
Be sure to use a Programming Module
(PRB3311) to adjust the cutoff voltage when
using Ni-MH batteries to protect against overdischarging the batteries.
Note: The ESC is factory-set for use with
    Li-Po batteries.

    Quoted from the manual.

    Thanks again!

    Thanks Lenny,

I own a few sets of 3S Nanotech's for my shortcourse truck, they perform really well.

Interesting about the gens, ill look at them on their website.

I'm running the Zippy 40C series 2S1P 5000mah packs. They concern me a bit as they are usually more out of balance after running then what has been my experience in less demanding uses with that brand in my airplanes. I have three pairs of them, and after less than a half-dozen uses each, they only charge to 4.18 - 4.19. If I start the charger (iCharger 106B+) a second time, they'll top off at 4.20.

I'll be trying the Gens Ace 30C LiPos next.

Does anyone run 2S2P packs? I'd like some increased run time for sport boating. If I bought a pair of 2S2P packs, I'd have to make up a parallel tap to hook them up to my boat's ESC, correct? I'd have to check the measurements to see if they'd fit in the Mystic (they'd be thicker, right?). I think the boat wouldn't mind a little more weight. It might help keep it on the water!
