wow, perhaps now that I have the ICE charger I can go back to NIMH for the sv and keep the lipo's for the cat and hydro. Thanks Steven. Expect an order next week.

Do these have heavy or thin tabs?

I'm not sure what you would consider thick or thin. This is the same company that built my no name green packs from about 2 years ago. Only we changed the wire and connectors this time. Lots of people getting in rtr boats are using some pretty cheaply built packs, we built these pack to fill that void.

Thanks for carrying these NiMH packs for the SV and Blackjack boats. What do you consider to be their recommended maximum amps?

I dont have a max rating. I would estimate in the 50 amp area to be safe.

    Default Testing

I bought one of these from Steve and took it apart, very well made with a good tab and multiple welds. The cells are 4400mah at 30 amps with good voltage. I highly back these packs for sport running and sport racing.

    thanks,
    Steve

These sound like the ticket for NiMH, but are any NiMH packs rated any higher for amperage?? I have been looking around and the best rated for constant disharge is around 35A. If that is the case do most run 4 packs in their SV so to not over amp their packs? I have LiPo packs but they are quite large and dont fit too well. just wondering

I agree, they are good for fun. I run 2 of them in my DF22, and they do a good job. I tested with an Etrex and got 40 mph. First boat I've built. However, they get hot. They sit right on the bottow of the boat, but they were real hot after that 40 run.

Anyone running these packs steve has, and do you like them, do they get hot etc. I got someone asking which packs and I am considering telling him about these or the DTX 4200 unless he wants to go Lipo right off the bat.

I wish I would have went LiPo first thing. would have saved me a lot of money and weight.

But which ever way you tell him, make sure you suggest a charger that is capable of charging both NiMh and LiPo.
