    Default new improved spartan

i have 2 spartans 1 i bought new with castle power system in it but split hull in a bad blow over so i bought a new 1 for some odd reason. the second one i bought is completely different the deck is completely flat on top old 1 slopes down. the v at stern in 1.25 inches deeper, and the hatch in improved with a longer toungh that slides into the hull. most of all it runs alot better in the water.

I wonder if this is why there are $20 deals on Spartan hulls popping up. Blowing out the old stock?

Chrisg81983, is there anything different on the transom that you can see?? the strut mounted a bit higher or anything along those lines?

    Kevin

EDIT. I see you noted the V is 1.25" inches deeper at the stern. Is the strut still mounted right near the bottom, or higher up?

    Chrisg81983,

How does that motely crew run?? I was looking at those with a certain amount of interest and wondering what they are like to run.

I have read that they were having some drive cable issues with the MC.

the strut is about 1.5 millimeters higher than my old one but my old one is also a little off center to the left so i dont know what the true position is

The $20 hull deal was like 6 months ago. And they fixed it.

Yea the $20 hull was a glitch in pricing when they first came out.
Traxxas never announces much unless it's a large departure from the old stuff.

Seeing them side by side, it looks like the old hull slopes down in the rear which may be where the deeper V at the stern comes from. Not sure that a longer tongue will help given how flexible the hatch is, did they change the rear of the hatch any?
Graphics look aligned a little better, they look kind of glossy from the matte old ones.

The new hull certainly seems more stable than the old design.

Are you running stock setup in the video?

Looks like it handles really good, but honestly i don't like the flat deck look. I think the origional hull looks better. I'm supprised there are no rumblings of a hull change on the Traxxas site, wonder what the deal is?

You r rite about looks but I will take a flat deck to have a better handling boat atleast now you can get some stable speeds out of it

The Traxxas website shows the new hull. There is nothing about why the hull was changed, but all the pics show the flat deck hull. I still think i like the looks of the origional hull better!

Looks like they changed everything. All the old pictures were like 2 years old when it used to be called the Titan.
Look it even has Castle wires!
