Almost ready to fit the electronics back in, finish off the water cooling and water proof the hatch.
Watching with interest! Have you decided what you will do with the cowl?

I will line the cowl with carbon/kevlar and have bolts holding it on along with some foam on the rim and tape on the outer.
I have the hatch done and working on the rest today, If I don't get interrupted too often, I may finaly get this thing on the water next weekend.
The water coolings now done and to power the rx ect. I've fitted a 3000mAh losi NiMH into the front right sponson that connects to an on/off switch into the rx. The rudder is ready to go with plenty of tourque from a hitec 7955, I'll keep doing more work this week.
It looks awesome. It will fly. I cant tell from the pics, are you using the same water to cool the esc,s and the motors? Personally i would never do this, especially on a set up using 1717 and a 180 esc. Those motors can pull some pretty serious amps. I always run a separate water supply line to the esc and motor. Most lakes and ponds in the peak of summer are not all that cool to begin with. Worth the extra work to make sure everything is getting cooled as best as possible. Its an awefull nice build. Hate to see anything going up in smoke!!
Meh.. He'll be just fine
LOl if you say so. I personally dont think those esc,s are the best choice for those motors but hey,Time will tell.
The water cooling lines do look a tad confusing, the pic didn't show the 4x outlets, 2 on each side coming from each motor and esc. I'll add a couple more pic's showing the brass water pic ups I've made, I'm a little unsure how they'll go so I've ran those to the motors and the dual rudder pick ups to the esc's.
Ooops my bad I thought you were using the t180,s.
Any time I ran a single 1717 or twin 1717 they always came back cold as hell no matter what prop I threw at them.

I've also thrown heaps at the 1717's in a few boats and in cars/trucks and agree on that, I love these motors. I had a little set back on the build yesterday. While setting up the flex drives I stuffed the only reverse rotation shaft I have and now I'll have to wait until the replacement arrives. I had cut it to length but hadn't bothered to solder the end as of yet and upon entry to the coupler, one loose wire caught and began to unwind the others, all I'll say is, I now have a soldered flex thats about 1/2" too short. I won't do that agian, the boat was ready for it's maiden on Sunday, DOH!!
I run a twin Falcon cat with 1717's and T180's and all runs perfect on Propshop 5017 3 blades. Good open lines is the key. Oh and this is in a Queensland summer with water temps around 23C. Millzee load em up and fly.
Andrew
Find it + Buy it + Twin it + Run it = WOOHOO
sweet news, I just happen to have a set of those props although they've been cut back a to around 47-48mm.
Looking the Biz, Danny.
Nice.
Ive a CR 3/16 x 17" flex here, if interested :)

THanks Doc But I'll only have to wait a few more days for the stock from OSE, I'm a little busy building a 3.6 x 6m chook pen/ bird aviary this weekend for my missus and kids so I won't be needing one any sooner.
It's alive, hahahaha!!!!
All ready to hit the water, the weather is perfect but I'm stuck looking out the window over the dead calm waters of the lake on this sunny day, yah!!
After far too long, the cats ready to play. I finished things off today by soldering a couple of sets of parallel cables, making up the flex drives (thanks steve :)) and a few other small things like hatch nuts ect. After I shut the office it was almost dark so I took the boat over to the lake fully loaded and taped to see how it'll sit in the water and I'm very happy with the angle and height it sits, it looks like its ready to launch. I found the boat a little heavy to carry so back in the workshop I put it on the scales and they read 10.7kg or 23.6lb, it'll be interesting to see how the 447's go pushing the weight. I'll get some footage when I get the time to take it for a spin.
That is very very sweet. Congrats. I cant imagine it not being a rocket.
Looks good. Will those water lines touch the props?

Thanks.
I hope the water lines will stay out of the props way, they should be fine. I managed to talk my wife into going shopping in the morning and I'll do the office and after she gets back I'll have the late afternoon to do a little testing on the water, I'll try to get some video and I'll show the good and the bad and hope a few experts will chime in to help out with the trimming of this thing.
It'll take a bit of time for me to get it all trimmed up but I'm happy enough for now till I get time to do it.
Just an observation, Danny.. top cameraman !
