    Default Surprise Career Change

So this morning I am in my machine slinging cans like any other Thursday. I get a call from my supervisor. He asks my exact location and tells me to shut down and wait for him to arive. I'm like OH FUDGE what the hell did I do this time. He showes up and informes me I'm not in trouble..WEW. Then I am asked if I would consider a new position. He then explains the 800 square foot shop and office that had just been completed is for graphic design. So he offeres me the job & shop. I have like no time to think about it but I said yes. Just like that I'm done as a driver/operator. I went in, parked the truck & an hour later 35 thousand dollars of equipment is delivered. I have a thremal printer and a few diffrent plotters from 10 to 48 inches not to mention a brand new computer, which I promptly informed him the monitor was way to small. I need a 20 to 24 inch lcd. I got a no problem..& let me know what else you need. I guess being the shop computer geek has paid off. Now I'm training and soon will be lettering everything from police cars to to street signs & god knows what else.
I have 4 rolls of practice vinyl to cut up over the next few weeks. Guess I'll be doing my own boat graphics and lettering now.

    Congrats on the job, Tom.

Be sure to let us know when you start working with the 24k gold leaf for the fire trucks - now that would look nice on a boat!

Thanks fellas! Danny I had your digits already & don't be suprised..lol. I am running Omega 2.6 & working with alot of vector art it apears.

Rex right now I have the stock 220 white, black, intence blue, and red. The thermal printer is made by Gerber and it accepts these neet foil color cartrages. I was looking on ebay last night & could pick up alot of my own stuff cheap there. Since how ever I am running the department I can just order my personal stuff along with the townships orders and save on shipping. Check this out, I was working with a "warp" tool yesterday @ the end of the day. It looks like I will be able to do hull wraps...WAY KEWL.

Got some pictures of the office today. We just set it up last week and allot is still ordered. Still we have enough to get rolling. The graphics on the table is some stuff I have been playing with. In the middle of the island is the thermal printer. Off to the right is the 20 inch plotter and the one on the back wall it the 48". Behind the island is all the color foil cartridges along with the vinyl. I can't wait for all the back orderd material to come in. We just have basic colors now.

I recorded the plotter today. IMO it's a pretty impressive peice of equipment. At well over 10 grand I guess it had better be. Check this out and note the credits.
