    Default battery buying

Since OSE is pretty much out of stock on batteries, where can I purchase a good pair of 6 cell IB3600 or 4200(whichever is recommended) packs? running them in a SV27.

    thanks

That's all great but please consider a pair of LiPos for that boat like the Elite's at PolyR/C for 65 each. Of course you will need a charger too. I think by the end of this summer there won't be a boat OR car guy running NiMH batteries anymore. I just got some and I am sold!

I buy all my lipos from Pat at RC Lipos

Great prices, and a good guy to deal with. Free shipping too!!

RC Lipos also carries Hyperion chargers which is what I bought. Fantastic charger for 140 dollars. The Elite batteries are one of the brands they sell (65 dollars for a 4800 2S pack) and you might get some different opinions about them but they are reasonably priced and they sure run my cars well. Boat will have to wait till summer.

If RCLipos sells them and Cheap Battery packs can't keep them in stock I have to believe that the Elites are a good value but I am not the expert. I think they are great but just running a LiPo battery is so much different that any one would probably seem good!

I agree, the Hyperion chargers are the best I have found.

The Elites are great cells and they have a hard time keeping them in stock. Pat and Mike work together on the Elites. So either one is a good source.

Personally I use the PolyRC packs. Enerland cells (top quality) and worth it to me for the few extra bucks.

Calcagno45 has got to decide what to do. Years and years of running round cells combined with the sticker shock of a whole new setup makes it tough to change. (It was for me) But if you poll the users of this forum I bet you won't find one who would say "forget about those LiPos, stick with NiMH", if they have had a chance to try them.
    Quick cost breakdown-- 4 Elite 2S packs=260$
    Hyperion charger =140$
A lot of fun but a lot of money!

I'm also wondering how good the Integy's are too. I don't find any reviews on them anywhere so far. That is a great Mha rating at 25C for the price! Just wonder how tight the specs are and how good the build quality is compared to the PolyRC, PolyQuest?

I've also been wondering about these:

Also consider running in a sport setup a LiPo pack should last at least twice as long as a NiMh pack. You will also get a performance increase as they are not as heavy and do not have as much voltage drop when you are drawing the amount of current as boat will.
