It depends on what brand lipo's your looking at and what motor and esc you plan to run.

Kinda like the other thread where you asked similar questions
if your not going to buy 4s packs like you said already because you don't want to spend the money then by the 2s packs like you stated in another thread
two 2s 40c 5000mah packs are plenty for one run, but you will want more as these boats are a kick in the pants to play with!

Go to hobbypartz.com and look at the gens ace batteries they have. Or, go to hobbyking.com and look at there turnigy or zippy batteries. If you order from hobbyking, make sure you order from the USA warehouse. I like gens ace the best but I have owned the other two brand batteries too.

Let's say you get 2 5000 mAh 4s batteries vs 2 5000 mAh 2s batteries. All this will do for you is allow to have a longer run time IF you run the two batteries parallel in the boat. I would just get 2 or 4 2s batteries and call it a day.

    Get 2x 2s 5300 mah 30c Gens Ace packs from hobbypartz.com or get 4x 2s packs.

I mentioned 4x 2s packs so you can run for a few minutes and then bring it in to cool and have another set of batteries ready to go.

I bought a new charger to handle the 4c's better and have not regretted it.. Something else to consider is a charger that will do two batt's at once as you may be there for a while charging 4 or more batt's between runs..
