Default <$10 card to check lipo voltage: Total, each cell and & total number of cells

There is a great LiPo circuit card with a digital display that will show how many cell the battery has (if it shows 3 S when it's a 4S one is burned out), shows voltage for each cell & total voltage. It's on ebay for under $10. See Lipo Battery Low Voltage Tester 1S-8S Buzzer Alarm, item#(180633061879).

For about another 10 buck, OSE has one that give you actual cell capacity as well....much more useful.

Spend $20 and get a multi meter. Then you can measure any pack, any voltage.

Yes and while you're there fry some of the balance connector wires if your finger slips... Ask how I know...

IMO the Hyperion EOS Sentry is the BEST tool to check batteries, at home and at the pond, thanks to Lipo for the suggestion!

Do you mean it can measure how many mAh hours each cell has & total actual total battery pack capacity?

I have been using mulitmeters for 40 years & building offshore cats & hydros for 20+ years. I built & raced 10th scale off-road trucks & buggies in The San Diego area & Mexico in the 80s & have a case full of 1st place trophys to show for it.

I consider myself an expert on building fast electric brushed motors & NiCad battery packs. But, I'm new to the whole Brushless/LiPo tecnology. For about $8 this small digital readout is much easier to use for a quick check.

I appreciate the advice & will check out your recommendations.

No, it gives you a percentage based on the voltage of the battery.

It's a quick and easy way to check the voltage.
