    Default A Turnigy Marine 120A can run a 3674 2800kv motor?

    Hi guys,

I can run a kd36-74 2800kv motor with an Esc Turnigy Marine 120A? I'll run with 4s 4000mAh 40C in a boat with a 42x29x15 Turnigy Prop (plastic). I'm plan to change the prop for a X442 in the future. In the spec it say's that the motor will draw 110A, but i'm not sure if i'll cook my motor. Anyone have see this setup?

The motor can and will pull more amps than that. That is the listed max operating amperage of the motor.
It reall is a 3s motor for sport use.

That motor wont last long on 4s, The kv is to high at 2800kv. That will give you over 41,000rpm unloaded. Cheap motors & those sort of revs dont go well together.

What would this setup draw on 3S?

    WOW
Is there a formula somewhere that we can use?
I'm still can't get my head around calcing amps to pick a speed control.

The 120 will handle that setup fine..........i ran a 4074 2200kv in my Pursuit with a 120 and an x442 and it held up.......went to a T180 for more room though.

Great news to me! I plan on running a 125 amp esc in my apparition with either a 4074 2150kv or 3674 1900kv tacon on 4s. I'm looking for 40 to 50 mph so ill be running a similar prop. What voltage were you running with this setup and what speeds were you getting with that x442? What temps were you getting?

My temps were always below 125* on the ESC...........just in the warm zone really. I hit 46 mph with this setup and it was very solid overall.

Using the speed calc I should get near 50 with the x440 prop with the 3674 1900kv on 4s. 1.4x40x1900x16.8/36970=48.3 mph. I think this would be my ideal sport setup.
