Default A few water pic's of the Spartan

Up to the lake this weekend i got another several runs in with the Spartan, i'm diggin' the boat! The cooling mods seem to be doing the job, the motor only get's to a round 75* tops, ESC is cooler. Also the Batteries are coming to life, run time are gettin better and it's faster, i'm really happy with how the boat performs! Is it blazzing OMG fast with NIMH's? No, but it's fast enough to be fun! It's very comparable speed wise to my stock SV27, that's what i was wanted! The X442 prop probably helps. Anyways, here a few shots of the boat up to the lake i run on.

Sounds about what I was running in today, this boat torpedoes through waves like a knife.

It was in the air almost as much as it was on the water.

Tape the hatch though, I blew the hatch last week running in rough water just bouncing over waves. Thought for sure it was going to swamp on me before I could reach it, but got lucky.

My thoughts exactly, that nice sharp deep vee bottom is great in rough water!! Yeah, i have been taping my hatch down just in case. As soon as the lake warms up enough to be comfortably swimable i can't wait to really run the boat hard and get some GPS numbers. Right now i've been keeping close to the docks and takin it easy, when the water warms up i can stretch the boats legs out a little bit.

I have seen the threads on "stiffening" the hatch, and will likely try it eventually. But we waited so long for the lake to thaw, that were just enjoying running our boats right now.

I would probably still tape the hatch anyway, I find it still helps keep things drier when you flip the boat.
