Dude, you buid boats.... Make it work! A little sanding and buffing and it will slide in.
Oh I did.....I couldn't wait for AC to mail them,,so I went to my hobby store and bought them....they didn't fit...yes so I sanded ,,,and sanded,,,,and they now slide nice...but today,,,AC's parts came,,,and they didn.t fit....Its just alittle odd that this need to be done...Anyways,,,,I did buy a flex from Steve...has not arrived here yet ....does he sell bushings ?? and what about thrust bearings....I have them for my gasser's...that I get here...but can't find them on Steves site
You really don't need a thrust bearing for this setup.
ok,,but I'm building a toysport jolly cat from OSE with a 1527....there it wouldn't hurt...I did find the bushings,,,which one fits that motley?
5mm output shaft
yes and one for the strut too ..
NO! you need to leave a gap for the cable to compress under load. Gassers can use them because the square drive is floating, not clamped in a collet.
after sanding and sanding,,,these AC parts aren't fitting,,,there would be no bushing left and my bench sander is smoking..:-}
Gondy,,,bye-bye now.....My hobbie store called me up and traded me for the Geico the motley is gone....Ive had pro boats before,,,never once did I tear one down after 20 feet........
So I wanted to make up a couple extra stub shaft/flex cables while waiting for the next round of MCs to hit the market (that's when I'm planning on buying one).
Ok, I looked into it, I guess (for the time being) everyone is out of flex shafts (assembled or not).
Would a 0.078" piano wire drive work as an alternative? I know this would require a bit of work in the hull, but in the long run would it pay off? I can get piano wire and stub shafts for it pretty easily (and cheaply) after all.
Bushings won't be an issue for me (I'll just make up a few spares on the lathe).
