    Default Motley Crew thoughts.....

After running a bunch of packs i have to say it's a great boat. It's best attribute is the way it carves turns. Changing packs and working inside is really easy because of the large hatch opening. I do have to say I did replace the shaft with one from OSE(shameless plug), not because it broke but just because the OSE cable is straighter and a shinny gold color which I'm sure makes it faster( just kidding).

It turns very nice. Love it!!! Cant wait to get my Geico out and run them together. My favorite 2 rtr boats. As far as I'm concerned the best rtr boats ever built. If those 2 rtr's were out 10 years ago, I probably would have never started OSE.

OSE is probably part of the reason those boats are a good as they are.

steven, i think youre right about these two being the best rtr boats ever built. like you, i have both boats. imo the motleycrew out of the box is a much better boat. performance and handling is far superior and no wah wah. a simple prop change got my mc to 47mph. for the mg to run that speed you need to do some serious changes like blueprinting the bottom, offset rudder and maybe run it on 5 cells. my mg with those mods including 5cells runs 46 mph with the stock motor and when you run it on 5 cells you need to change the speed control. i will be very interested to see what the mc will do with a ul1 motor.

I have to gps the Motley. With a x642 I dont think mine is running 47mph. I love my Geico. The wah wah thing never bothered me.

I think that the pitch ratio on the X642 might be loading down the motor a bit too much, based on your numbers. The M445 would have freed up the motor to rev.

You might try an ABC 45x55 as well, perhaps detounged slightly.

i tried the 545. didnt gps it but it might be a little quicker but you gotta watch the heat. i think the weakest part of an aqua craft motor are the wires coming out of the motor.they get hot and melt the insulation then the bare wires touch and boom, so long motor and speed control.
