do you mind telling me what kv motor your running man that thing is flying on 6c
washed up factory racers edge driver.. past LHS owner now im back to the hobby I love
Stock OEM motor
what kind of temps were you geting on the motor and controler and what prop im geting ready to run a set up kind of like that ( when i get more time) lol
Here is the 6s set up:
1. 6s with (2)11.1v 40c 5000mah and 7.4v 40c 5000mah hard case lipos
2. Stock OEM Motor
3. Sea King 180a ESC ( settings 1-forward, 2- 5 cell, 3- 3.4v low voltage cutoff, 4- 11.25 timing )
4. 1600mah Receiver Pack (BEC removed)
5. Relocated Water Outlet
6. Kintec Offset Rudder Bracket
7. 4mm water line
8. M445 Prop
9. Trued Hull, Fiberglass Sheet reinforced Canopy, Front part of hull filled with spray foam.
10. Total Boat Weight as listed 6.4lbs
Motor Temp was 110deg
ESC was 89deg
Very nice wp. You can do quite a bit of tweaking and get a bit more out of 4S. Stock motor Im at 44mph. Im running 4 minute LSO heats and its doing pretty well temperature wise. the motor wires are the only things really suffering. But Im really happy with it.
We posted at the same time. You defintiely have something wrong if your only turning 38 mph on an M445. Be sure youve calibrated your throttle on your 180. Deisel was having an issue w/ his Pursuit in it not running like everyone elses w/ the same set up. He found that even though he calibrated, it didnt calibrate correctly. He did it again and picked up quite a few mph. You may be able to get closer to the 60 mark?!?
i never recomended the 6s set up with the ul-1 just 4s...

Here is my setup and tests. Where do I go from here?
Initial setup Stock MG out of the box 4000mah 25c (x2) batteries in the middle of the trays = 30.1 mph aggressive bounce.
Adjusted the stuffing tube to table top level, placed batteries forward of 9” COG line = 31.4 mph almost no bounce.
In all subsequent tests best speed and performance was with the batteries forward of the 9” line.
Prop selection and best speeds are as follows: (this is the order tested as well)
PB 1.6x2.5 composite Stock 30.1 mph
PB 1.6x2.5 composite sharpened and cleaned up 31.4 mph
PB 1.9x3.0 composite filed to 45mm dia & sharpened 39.1 mph
GR 42x55 balanced & sharpened 37.7 mph
Octura M445 balanced, sharpened & thinned 39.3 mph
How big a prop can the stock set up handle. I have an old X452 that I plan on modifying. Grinding down the dia & maybe de-tongue it somewhat or a lot.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hello everybody,
I also have an MG (initial setup stock) , and i have some questions about the settings...
when you say "Adjusted the stuffing tube to table top level" that's mean that you remove the prop and the rudder, then you put the boat on a flat table, the bottom of the drive is at the same level than the bottom of the sponsons ? ( green line is same as red line )
Isn't there any negative or positive angle of the drive ? I made a little sketch ...
( sorry for my english i'm french )
Thanks for your help
Loosen the strut bolt and set the boat on a table with the rudder hanging off it. The strut will now sit level with the hull.

Nice run, and no bounce to. 6s in fun, but I got to tame my MG first.

I had a look at you're site, and will try the settings in the 'RC BOAT MODIFICATION SECTION' . I will try to se If I an copy those( eventhough I think I have been there when testing in the video) and se if that helps. Going to try with the 642 tonight.

Guess I miss read it thought you were actually adding weight to the boat somehow
Why are you using a separate 1600mah Receiver Pack in stead of BEC power?
Less stress on the esc since he's running at max voltage (6S)
nhaa, that 1600 hump last's forever. I put back about 400-500 mah after a week+ running.
