Default PVC Boat Stand for Spartan

These are not a new idea, and I used the DIY "recipe" from Fightercat Racing found here: http://fightercatracing.com/index.ph...cles&Itemid=58

These may be of interest to those who are running longer rudders because the stand provides addition clearance for the rudder and could easily be modified to provide even more clearance if required.

I made the first stand to the exact VEE HULL sizing specs found on the instructions.

I modified the measurements a bit on the second stand to provide a wider stance on the hull.

I figure these cost about $20 +/- for material to build.

For those who haven't seen these before, or those who may be interested in custom fitting one to your Spartan, here are some pics showing some details

    ORIGINAL RECIPE

    Bunk Positioning

    Rudder Clearance

    Joiner Pipe Sizes

"CUSTOMIZED" FOR WIDER STANCE ON HULL

NOTE: Cut carry rope an extra 12" long (9 feet) on customized stand

    Bunk Positioning

    Rudder Clearance

    Joiner Pipe Sizes

Nice work, here's a variation for multiple boats.
Stack mode - each separates into it's own stand.

Nice work guys. Gotta make one of those this weekend. Only I'll have to modify it so it fits in my new Viper carry bag I just bought.

That's pretty cool! I've been planning on building a better stand too, the one that comes with the boat is a piece of junk!! Thanks for the plans!

Not to hi-jack the thread but i have been looking at the Venom bag too, but i'm a little skeptical about how well the Spartan will really fit, i'd like to see some pics before i buy.

Great ideas, I took a few and came up with my own, boats have their own stands. And a nice way store store when not in use.

Here's mine. I drilled through the T fittngs so they slide on the beams and I can adjust the rails as the fleet changes. I hold them in place with a self tapping sheet metal screw. I designed the rack so it just fits inside my 'burban.

Can this be moved and be called boat storage? Just can fit nothing in my car, I have a mercury sable, worst trunk design ever.

I am glad pipe and fittings are so cheap, I am trying to find some long skinny bins to mount on the sides for tools and battereis and other stuff.

The yellow mono is (or was) an Aeromarine Titan 33. Good running boat but above 50 mph she ran loose and was a hand full in race water. She triped on a wake last year, split down the side at the seam and the hull flooded. I taped her up to get ready for the next heat and the wet T180 went.

Great job KCboater. I like the idea of the protective guard for the rudder and strut.
