Default Hobbyking Program Card/ 180a ESC

I finished installing a 180a esc and need to program it. I have tried with the transmitter and cant get it right. I also have the hobbyking program card and all it does is show dashes.
What am I doing wrong ?

It's tricky but take your time and get the "beeps" correct to what type of power and timing you want to run. I had to read the instructions three times until I got it programmed. The programming card didn't help me much. I programmed mine using both of them. Good luck.

I watched the you tube video and it worked.
The motor seems to have more snap when you hit the throttle compared to the oem ESC

I thought it was fairly easy to program with the Tx...of course Ive probably programmed about 20 different controllers in the heli world..Just read the manual and understand what all the beeps mean and then youll get it.. Also when you get it programmed right, youll love the 180 compaired to the stock esc..It is ultra smooooooooooth in a snapy way..

Went to try the boat today and the ESC doesnt work. I tried reprogrammed it and the motor doesnt spin and the ESC doesnt beep. I have tried reprogramming it, but still no good. I reinstalled the oem esc and all works correctly. What is going on, bad ESC?

It worked on the bench before you went out ?
and then dead at the lake ?
it's the motor that makes the beeps, not the esc, but it's hard to say what's wrong. what about the motor ?, my boat did this on the last run , last year.

And I thought the esc was faulty, but one of the wires to the motor came off inside the motor can, and I did not se it before I tok the motor out.

I put the OEM ESC back in and the motor spins correctly. ALL is working now. Reinstall the SeaKing 180 and use the program card and still NO BEEP from the ESC.

Got another new 180a ESC and it works perfectly. Used the program card to set the settings. Sending back the faulty one for replacement.
