    If you can get your hands on a CC/Neu 1717... Great motor, perfect size for the Sparty. 6s2p is what you want, not 2x6s packs in series. A Turnigy or Seaking 180 will do quite well with that motor as well.

    I'll see if one of my CC1717 motors will fit in my Spartan..
    right now I have a CC1520 resting in it

    In fairness he did say lower kv.

    To the OP:

    The idea of running higher voltage/lower kv is to reduce current draw and run bigger props. Your setup will generally run cooler when acheiving the same RPM, and you will have longer runtimes with the same mah.
    You have to keep in mind the room you have in the hull and the weight of the boat with all those batteries though.

    it fits, but I dought a cooler is going to work with it using the stock mount??

    You'd better support the end of that bad boy. All that weight hanging from a plastic mount may not last too long.
