Default Need info on "Servo Savers"

I've seen these critters advertised , seems mostly for cars. Thing is that my tunnel will flip & the resultant pull when the lower unit slaps the water takes out my servo. Is it possible to adapt a servo saver to my application with a push/pull servo arm ?

    Thanks,

    Tony

Hmmm....not sure about this, but does seem like a good alternative to loosing servos. Are you looking to obtain one as I should have one or two laying around? I know the one's I have are made to fit Futaba servos...LMK...

Kent, I'm using servos that take Futaba arms. Would it be possible to show pictures of how they mount/fit ?

    Thanks,

This may work for you Tony. http://www.servocity.com/html/122ss_double_end.html

I have seen guys use quick links (less the screw), fuel tubing, and lock collars.

The boat is hauling the mail, Herb would be proud!!
    Good luck!

According to what I see, it seems like I could get one to work. What kind of a transaction do you have in mind ? Edit : OOps, I'll need a double arm like the one Doug suggested, $ 6.95 at servo city; I think I have about that much left after WW VII !

Here is a pic of how I did something like this..

In this case it is for a throttle servo for a gasser that vibrates pretty bad.

Out there are shaft type servo savers for rock crawler trucks. I use to have those in my G1 crawler. You made think they might be suitable for boat rudder links too. Surely they are a bit thick thus may need some mod in the rubber boot.

If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Thanks. The one Doug suggested looks more applicable since I use a push/pull config rather than a single arm. I'm giving the "fuel tubing" solution some thought as well.

If it was me I would consider trying one of these used in large scale rc cars.
    http://www.rc-car-online-shop.de/cgi...-servo%20saver
    Here is also one

    With ball bearings

I will require some modifications to your steering system but the saver is very durable and accurate.
