Default What's in YOUR prop box?

Getting my prop box ready for this years racing season, I thought I'd see what other people have been keeping in theirs...

My props in order by diameter then pitch.

as you can see, most are for smaller boats (when I was sport running)
Racing requires a bigger boat and I am short on big props

Geez, thats a lot of props.

Ok, so how do you keep track of the props? They dont stamp the outside with the X number do they? I just noticed recently that some are stamped with an "L" for left hand turn.

Brushless1, We put tags into a container which has sections for each prop. This becomes our "prop box". Here's an example. Otherwise, I keep a spreadsheet with calculations. When I want to explore what prop to try, I put in all other known data such as kv, voltage, slippage for model type, efficiency, and then I can calculate approximate potential speeds. Not say that it is always the right prop for the model, but that's how I track it all.

Most of the Octura props will say what they are on the trailing hub section. Example: X432 will have X432 stamped into back. The Grim Racer Props will also include an L which in that case, stand for lifting props.

    Hope this helps.

I have props in my prop box (Had to say it)

    Brushless01 this is what I use: http://www.harborfreight.com/24-cont...box-90243.html

*Most of the props have what they are stamped on the hub, but I also write on each little box with a sharpie what they are for quick access. I also cut a small peice of thin cloth in each little box so the prop is sitting on something. Not sure it's neccessary but I do it.

    Nyyce on the box idea.

Ok, you just got me looking for them. I have about 4 props. Guess I need to stock up. My inventory pales in comparison to you all!

    What's in my prop box?

Lots!!! I've got a bit of everything in there; octura, prather, abc, propshop uk. There's probably even an old JG in there someplace.

The black box is for gasser, silver for FE. I doubt there's a completely stock blade in the pile with the exception of the 42x55 sv-27 and UL-1 RTR props. The plastic boxes are full of raw blanks and partially preped props. There's a couple hundred total there.

Chuck, you're more than welcome to any or all of my props, whatever you need at the pond. I'll even take the best one off of the boat I'm using at that time, no problem.

My racing partner keeps threatening to build me a new prop box complete with golden illumination (think the briefcase in Pulp Fiction). Of course, he's trashed more of my props than I have. But magically, there's always another in there that will push the boat just fine.

The old silver box is really getting a bit ratty. It's getting to be time to build a new one. This one will be bigger!!!

Ya, my fleet is the smallest it's been in a long time and I'm including the incomplete ones. My PS295 is done and my Inanity is ready to run (need NAVY decals).

Thanks for the heads-up. I do have float foam on the cowl though. I will be sure to lengthen the velcro too.
