Bullet connectors for micro hydro?

Hi all my 3550/KV brushless motor has 3.5 mm male bullet connectors . Is 3.5mm bullet connector enough to handle the current draws? Im guessing current will be in the 25-40 amp range . For battery side im considering the Deans ultra plug since my battery charger is equiped with them. Whats the max current the Deans ultra plug can handle? Regards Andris Golts.

ec3s are rated to 60 amps and there 3.5, deans thet say 60 but i desoldered one in my stock pb fastech

I use 3.5mm bullits on all of my outrunner motors that are around 25-40amp & in 3450kv, 3600kv & 3800kv along with the Etti 45amp esc with no problems at all. Pushing Octura x435 metal props. Thanks Martin.

I use 3.5 connectors on the motor to ESC and Deans ESC to the Battery on all my micros and pull up to 60 amps with no problems. I have found that on some cases pulling 75 to 80 amps I have needed to use a better solder like Novak and then I have had no failures.

3.5mm bullets are fine. Deans is also fine at that amp level. That's what we use on our products.

I use the 3.5mm bullets for a different reason, weight savings. The Deans are 100A max but I've seen them run higher amps no issues, both are overkill the Deans and the 3.5mm bullets. I have seen people run Deans past 100A with no issues. The weight is where the difference is: Two Deans male/female in weight are are .165oz/4.6g where as four 3.5 bullets are .100oz/2.8g. Every bit of weight adds up.

It's all about the tempature rise of the connectors.

The less amps the colder the connectors.

As for Deans, they are rated at 70 amps constant.

This will make them warm, 100 amps will make them hot.

the "over 100 amps" has to be in short bursts, or else they will melt.

Yes, I have seen melted Deans.

P.S. the "Fake Deans" are rated at 45 amps.
You know the low priced cheaply made ones .
