new p1 owner question

my friend just bought a p1 and with brandnew fully charge 3s, its was running bout 10mph, i wish I was intown so I can help but.......
Ok, my question is: do you have to setup the esc or anything for brandnew boat?? sounded like the boat is not running full throttle to me.

The esc should be setup from the factory to automatically calculate the lipo cell count. Make sure he's getting 3-beeps from the motor when he plugs his battery in. Also make sure he's not using one of those low mah, cheapie E-bay "special" lipos that are rated @ 15c.

It may sound silly but check that the grub screws on the flex coupler are tight as it may be slipping. I had this once but the boat was hardly moving at all. I always find with most problems it's best to check the simple little things first.

Good call James. I always use a dab of blue locktite on the coupler screws.
