Default SV-27 motor bearing end play ?

Hi all i was oiling the bearings on my sv-27 bl motor that has been used as an outboard on a tunnel hull for the past 3 seasons and noticed a little more than a 1/16'' end play on the shaft. Is this much end play normal or is this motor on it's way out? Regards Andris Golts.

    ...haven't been on in awhile.
I have several SV (blue can) motors that have lots more than 1/16 endplay. I recommend a thrust bearing, but the performance shouldn't be hampered...I've been racing one that started last season with nearly 1/4 in. endplay and it still rocks.
thrust bearings on all my motors - just makes sense.
