Just wanted to let everyone know that we are planning another Test n tune day a the wave blaster's lake on Saturday May 14. We will start running around 10 am.
Ok guys the Nats are closing in fast. I was asked to go over how the scoring works for high points and also the team points. The high points will be the formula that Mr. Newland drew up and was used the for the last few Nats i believe. Basically you are award point's for the number of boats you finish ahead of in a class. So lets say P-Mono has 15 boats in the class. The most point's awarded in that class would be 15 point's for first place, you would get 14 point's for second place, 13 point's for third, 12 point's for forth and so on. Now lets say Q- hyrdo has just 4 boats the most point's awarded for that class would be 4 point's for first, 3 point's for second and so on. As you can see more point are available for the bigger classes. The way the high point's are calculated is that you take the average number of boats per racer, right now i think that number would be 6. Then you would take your 6 highest scoring classes and total them up. That would be your total point's won. Then that number is compared with everyone else and that's how the High point's champion is determined.
Ok now for the team points. Teams are made up of three man teams with a $20 buy in. Each team member picks three different classes before racing starts. There is no overlap of classes. Points are awarded the same way they are for heat racing. It makes no difference on the number of boats in a class. Point's are based on finishing order per class so 400 for first, 300 for second and so on.
You the racer dont really have to worry about adding things up and calculating the club will take care of that. Just giving guys a heads up on how it works.
Ok i think that covers it.
Also just a reminder dont forget your your stopwatch.

Every heat is timed in case of a tie. There is no runoffs. If there is a points tie, the boat with the fastest heat time will take precedence. Also it is up to the driver or your pit man to report your time to the CD after the heat. But say you finish two laps down do to mechanical issue or whatever there really is no need to report for that heat but if you win or are near the top make sure your time gets put in.

I am sure this has already been answered somewhere, but how many rounds are we planning on doing?
Four time permitting.
Where can I see the rules on this class?
thanks,
Steve
For hull and powerplant rules look in the NAMBA rule book we will be going by the book.
The only variation from the rule book I know of is at the start, in place of a full mill lap we will only have 1/2 lap mill to the start, Same as all the other classes.
We will also be turning "left".
Hope this helps? T.C.
Got a question concerning this Saturday's test n tune session.
Will random boats be running all day or will sessions be broken into similar if not the same classes?
Hopefully we can just have open water all day. I need to test a few of my boats and don't want to mess with organized heats.

Bill, for the saturday TNT similar boats will be on the water at the same time. its really laid back, You will be able to run by yourself if you want, or with other boats if someone is there running the same hull as you.
I have a new 1/10th scale Modern that needs some test time.I hear ya about the radio and esc in that 1/8 scale. I may not even be able to get it going for the nats. I managed to obtain a NEU 1527 if it will fit in the boat and just ordered a Castle ICE 200 controller for it. Trying to get a new tunnel boat going too.

40 Racers / 234 Boats !!
OK all you FE Racers, the deadline is next Wednesday, May25th for entering this years NAMBA FE Nationals !
Due to getting the race program together and the fact that we have held out this long on the actual date, this deadline is firm. So please get registered this weekend if you still plan on attending but have not signed up yet !
Also if you have entered and there are any class changes additions or subtractions please let us know. If for any reason you do not plan on attending, again please let us know. Your help is greatly appreciated as we would like to have the heat schedules as accurate as possible for the event.
The club is almost prepared. Trophies, Shirts, Drivers Stand, Main Generator, the videographer, banners sponsors, donation prizes, Race CD's, rescue boats, food, Tech Committee, tables , Tents ........are almost in place !!
Wow I'm tired just listing all these things that have had to be completed for this big event.
It will be great seeing old friends and new ones. This should be very fun and enjoyable for all who attend. If you are hesitant because you have never entered a Nat's before don't be. There are plenty signed up attending there first, and the veterans will surely help you how ever they can. We will all make you feel most welcomed and glad you chose to give it a try.
Well enough words now I must get all my boats ready for those 20 classes !!
Hope to see everyone there,
Ken
