    Default New RTR

    Hey guys.
I'm pretty sure that everyone here is beyond the rtr stage for sure ( other then the sv27's lol)
I just thought i'd do a little show on what Osborn model kits has in store for the new year.
We have a couple FE boats out and now we are going to hit the market with a RTR ABS boat.
Like most it has a stock motor, Being a smaller hull , it goes faster then most others and stays cool with out w/c.
It will come with a higher amp esc ( at least thats the plan) so that later upgrades ( such as motor) , you will not need to purchase a new esc.
and it will have a AM radio. I am testing the boat with rudder placement. So far where it is now, it lets me turn both ways fairly good .

( my caddy graphics are not included, But there will be graphics in the box with the boat.)

Add you 6 cell and go!

HOPEFULLY if it works out it will be a OMK boat, If not then just another boat in the"doom'd pile"

estimated will be the same as pretty much every other stock RTR.
I am guessing 13-19 mph out of the box
cost. . it will be competitive with all the other RTR's

I like the direction you went with the hull. The vee is quite deep, mcu more than the other rtr's in the same price range. IMO it's a smart move. This hull will behave much better after motor upgrades. Nice work man.

What hop-ups for the Johnson motor, turn fin and trim tabs which weren't mentioned, thanks! It is a nice build and clean and neat inside. Nice job!

With LiPoly and Li-Ion choices that are out now, these smaller boats are really going to do well with the lighter batteries. 05 Car motors on direct drive and gear drives will have a new life as well. This is a very nice looking hull, nice job!

Looks pretty good Taylor. Get the right pricepoint, and no other RTR will be able to compete. I think this model will do well.
If it were available when I was buying Radio Shack crappy boats, I would've snatched one up in a second instead of settling for something as useless as the Caliente 2.
Hull design/layout already looks to be better than The Villain, The Carrib. Cruiser, and the Hotz...let alone 70% of the "Fast" electric crap boats on eBay...
    Good luck Taylor/Osborn!

Lol advance. . . this isn't the boat for you then. what you need is the Fever by OMK 26 inch mono 9 inch beam. . well thats the plan any way. ( i'll post come the time way to much on my plate now )

dual canopy's would not work It is just to small and would looks horribly off scale. ( i have thought about that )

Its a family company the owner Derek Osborn is a member of one of our boat clubs.
we first met there a while ago, He had his miss Canada there running fast and i was interested.
So after a couple years we come to where we are now.

    Default New RTR

Now it wouldn't much modifing, just replace straight shaft with new stuffing tube and put in .130 flex and teflon and the Maxx wild motor at 14.4 and a lipo rate at 11.1 lipo. I was going to recommend the new 12t of Traxxas but rpm won't be given out by Traxxas and a S33 ( 633 CF ) small thrust cone. Now i tried a maxx wild on 8 cells and it really moved in a No Step 1 with timing set at 8 degrees for more power and a rc-hydros 60 amp esc. ok, from i've read here so far, boat is 26/6 in size. Now a 05-540 won't be big enough with more heat due to boat size but this boat looks well built and well laid out and a good fast sport boat and best bang for your buck! I'll probably catch heat but this is how i read this boat.

Hmmmm... the hull from that profile looks similiar to a Force 22 hull... A little less V perhaps... Looks really sharp with that canopy...

    Fun stuff!
