    Default Better Performance

Well needless to say I was much happier today after running the boat. I went out with several different props to try. The best ended up being a M440. With trinity 6 cell 4200s the boat ran 42.9. Needless to say the boat is alot more fun to drive now. There was a nice chop on the water which made for a challenge to run the boat. Needless to say it went over a couple of times today, but landed right side up. I am going to put the stock motor back in the boat to see what it will run. The last time I only saw a 1 mph difference between the motors running an x642 prop.

I have the ammo 36-50-2300 and a hydra 120 since the stock esc went out on my 2nd run.

I worked on the prop today alittle bit during my lunch, thinning it down a bit more, and smoothing it with some 500 grit, and my best now is 44.1 mph. The pond would have been completely flat if it weren't for some small rollers coming off the water fountain.

Cat Killer...lol I see your a Reggie Fountain fan...I love his Boats when it come to mono hulls.....But Miss Bud Select, Miss Geico, Miss Longlite, and Miss Callaghn(not sure of spelling) is way out of his league...So anytime your ready for a shakedown Kissimmee is only a couple of hours away from St. Pete....lol :D

I prefer cats over Vbottoms, but I have worked on 2 different fountain race boats. Same team, just two different boats.

I am not sure why yet, but I am surprised that fountain has not tried to run 200 mph yet in the cat killer. I would have to say that it is probably capable of it since the boat was clocked in a race at over 180. The current kilo record was set by a 40' fountain with a 2 way average of 171.
I quess Reggie is waiting for someone to try and break the record before he raises it anymore.

I've been a Fountain fan since 94', my first RC Boat was The MRP 41" Fountain....I want to build a model of the Corporate Cars 38' sport fisherman the has the record for quad outboards on a fishing boat....He also had a Red Diesel cat a few years ago the did like 150+, always ahead of His time....I give him mad kudos....genius. But model V hull can't replicate his performance....Thats I like cats now....

let him beat me first. I am sure neither of us have enough for you yet. We are still the beginners on a low budget. Neither of us have stepped up to lipos yet.

    Thinking about it though.

I'm just kidding it's all for the love of the sport....take your time and enjoy the joy of doing modification...it's a sweet learning process...I'm relearning myself.

this is the first boat that I have had that you can really play with and tweak the setup. My other boat is an old Futaba Candy that I have had for about 20 years. Still runs just like it did the day I first got it.

Don't worry Prince, once Avanti and I have something that can play close to your level, I am sure we can all get together for a day of fun at the pond.

Don't quit. I like the respoire you guys have. I'm learning alot from you guys. I have both the SV27 w/lipos, X642 prop and the BJBL26. My SV27 is fast. I don't know about the BJBL26. I haven't put it in the water yet. I'm going to upgrade it before I run it. I got hardware from Fullers and debating on putting a Feigao 9L or 9XL with a Pulso 100, Hextronik 120, or a Hydra 120. Just waiting to see which one gets my attention first.

I reworked my x642 today a lunch, and ran 48.7 tonight. I also removed the turn fins, which def. makes it interesting when you want to turn.

I still have a 645 that needs work, and a 440/3 that is ready to run, but I ran out of time.
