Default Painting candy over the silver

I want to paint a candy color over the silver on my Stiletto. By chance does any one know if the paint on these is lacquer ?
    Thanks, Roy

Don't take the chance use an enamel or polyurathane, you can spray these over lacquer but not the other way around

I understand that but they don't make candy transparent colors in enamels. I was going to use the sliver as a base for the candy blue.. Was hoping someone new what they use..

Not sure but they do sell polyurthane in candys, check out ppg paint, your local harley shop,
    and maybe house of colors.

No one seems to sell anything but laquer candies in spray cans. I just want to change the silver on the canopy

The stiletto is probably urethane clearcoat. Lacquer is ok over that but light coats to start. Enamel is the one you can't lacquer over. Highly doubt the stiletto is finished in enamel paint. I say go for it

I think I'll go for it too....... I don't like a RTR looks even thou they look sweet the way they come out of the box. I already pulled all the decals off and will stay with a white boat and a bit of bling on the Cowling...Will look clean and not like any other stiletto's.. I used to race real drag boats and ColorMeGone was her name.. This little play boat will be the same.. Already have some vinyl cut out for her..

That must be her in your picture. That looks ridiculously fast. I push RC boats like crazy but I don't think I'd have the cahones to do it from the pilot seat!!

Yup that's me in 1994 winning the nat's. I ran mod gas jet tunnel.. 118 mph in the 1/4 and later blown gas jet tunnel.. 132 mph in the 1/4... Divorce fixed all that and haven't raced since 99.
