Was just looking at outrunners and thought maybe this would be an ok upgrade to run on 5s and maybe it would fit in the stock motor clamp?

This is an awesome motor. Check the motor mount though, might have to change it. Also check the coupler, if the stocker is a 3mm shaft, might have to change the coupler. (Octura 5mm - .130 will work on the 3mm cable)
This is an awesome little 1500 watt motor! Excellent on 5-6s. I have a dozen of them, literally!
Make sure to set your ESC timing to 15 degrees or they'll run HOT.

The stock shaft is 5mm and I'm running a 90a seaking esc so all I need is for it to fit the stock mount. For the price I think I will order one and chance it. Will it run ok on 4s till I get a 3s to make I 5s 2p?

I've just ordered it so will try it on 5s when I get another battery, hopefuly it should fly. I accidentally ran the stock motor on 5s once and it was quick. Do you think temps will be a problem running 5s with that motor, 90a esc and an octura x640 prop?

Would the 2900kv version of that motor be any good on 4s as the 2200kv is not available?
Does anyone know who makes venoms marine motors for them? there has to be an identical one out there somewhere, like the venom esc. Its the same as the seaking!
I hope the HK motor fits as it looks like your motor mount will not fit anything BUT, a Venom motor or intunner because of the clamp motor mount design.
Thats called proprietary, I hate that... The only thing I didn't like about the P1.
I hope it will work for you.

I have ordered a new stock replacement motor aswell so if the one from hobbyking doesn't fit I will see how long a stock one holds up on 5s!
Beautiful! I'm glad it fits! Not too much meat clamped in I guess as the edge is only 1/8" or so. No matter as you have it ready to go now.
If you have a 40mm 3 blade on there I wouldn;t go up too much as torque roll might show up being a fairly narrow hull.
I don't know how much more power you will see since you went to a lower Kv motor than stock???
It can turn a much bigger prop but, will your boat roll from the torque?
More Voltage Captain!
Love those mirrors.

i think you could be right about the torque roll, and yes it doesnt clamp onto much but ive given it a good pull and its not going anywhere, i just wish you could still get hold of the 2200kv version of this motor, oh well for £25 its worth seeing how it goes!
I think FighterCat57 sells them now.... 2200kv that is.

OK Special Offer, just so happens I have an open order with the factory and can add more to it but only today and possibly tomorrow. It will take a week or so for them to come in.
This should be a good way to test the paypal cart feature.
Here's where to order:

PM or email me with any issues. There's also a contact on the link.
This is not an OSE stocked item, so there is no conflict of interest.

Hi what is the difference between between the Turnigy red anodised range of motors & the Turnigy Typhoon range. Martin.
In terms of fitting the p1 motor clamp I don't think the typhoon will fit because it doesn't have the lip a the bottom for the motor to clamp in.
I know their completely different in terms of outer body shape & different cooling fan but was asking in general are these 2 ranges of motors different internally or are they basically the same motors that can both be used in boats. As i use the smaller size outrunner motors in some boats & have a Turnigy Typhoon 2218H motor but was also looking at the red anodised motors & was interested in what the difference was between the 2 ranges. It really needs some one that uses/ sells both range of these motors to know the differencecs in these motors though. Martin.
The Typhoon's are stamped casings and have 16 gauge lead wires, rated for 22 amps. The Turnigy 3126 is a Suppo Model motor rated at 1500 watts. A much better motor at a far less cost. I've owned them both and the Suppo is hands down a better built motor. HK has them in 1600/1300 and I have them in 2200kv/Black casing.

Many thanks for clearing that one up on the differencies of the 2 motor ranges, The motor sizes im looking at are the smaller 450 H 2218 3200kv & 3550kv ( red anodised ) & also the 450 Typhoons. I already have the Typhoon 450H 3450kv but also wont to try the red anodised ones as well so wanted to make sure their was a difference between the 2. Yes the wires on the Typhoon motor are very thin which did raise concerns as soon as i saw them. These motors are being used in micro mono hulls by the way so will be also getting the red anodised motors to try. Im in the UK so the red motors seem a little harder to get than the Typhoons. Martin.
I'm in the UK also. Get them from hobbyking's german warehouse. They only do the 1300kv and 1600kv though.
Yep no probs with hobbyking, also you can use paypal. When I ordered my motor they were out of stock in the german warehouse so I ordered it from the one in china, took about 2 weeks. When you look at stuff on their website it will say DE warehouse, that means it's from Germany. Hope this helps, plus they have a good price on lipos.

The 1300kv & 1600kv that they list in Germany are the 500 series motors, The ones im interested in are the smaller 450 series 3200kv-3500kv to which it looks like they dont have stock in Germany. So it looks like its off to Ebay Germany or USA . Martin.
Was their any reason you went to their Japan site or did they direct you to them when you ordered, Dosnt it put the prices up quite a bit being shipped all that way as well.Martin.
They have the 450 versions. It will most certainly be cheaper from hobbyking you will just have to wait longer for it.
