    Cool

In simple terms - particularly when using long power wires (over 8" total), adding caps helps protect the ESC from ripple current which can cause ESC failure. The "capacity" of the caps depends. You want a cap with more voltage than your ESC maximum (like 35 volts for a 6S controller), good for 105*C, and equal to or greater than 500 uF. Sometimes two or more are added.

Does anyone have pics on what the aditional cap looks like. I am considering adding one to my esc and not shure how it should be mounted.

    Thanks

You can also purchase an already assembled cap board. They get soldered on to your battery wires on your esc.

Lots of different ways to install extra caps. Here is one method from Schulze.

I added these two 1000uf 35v caps to the 3 existing 1000uf 35v's on my T180. Caps went down in temp significantly.

    Concerning capacitors:

The rule "a lot helps a lot" is true and the reason for additional capacitors was already explained. Therefore I just want to add a hint: Put the caps as close to the controller as possible, this will increase performance. If the cables between capacitors and controller are too long, there won't be a positive effect.

    Best regards,
    Manuel

Would 3 caps farther away be the same as 2 close, i.e., adding wire to get to the caps? Thanks
