Default Second test on a new 1/8th fe with a wild ride

This was our second test a band new hull that was designed and built from scratch. We demo'd it for RCU at their gold cup race but this time we decided to see what it was capable of and wow was is a wild day as you will see. Enjoy

Yea its on 10s1p for now we are going to try 8s1p on the Neu and also a scorpion. This boat is like none other that I have driven. My dad designed it to be a serious floater the cg is way back and it is running an active canard controlled by a gyro. I know people say they don't work but I personally can tell you that they do it saved me twice in later runs. this run we were out to see how far we could push the hull and as you see we found it so there is a little more adjustment needed. We settled it down in the later runs but with a slower setup it will be close to what we are looking for.

    Very interesting Rob.
Can you post some pictures of your set up and the active canard controlled by the gyro.
Love to see how you got that sorted out.

I am building a H&M MARITIMO with an active tunnel wing controlled by a gyro.
She's 3/4 built and i can't wait to test it . Its called the M12.

    Nice work mate.

    Rob,
The Scorp is on it's way. I've included a motor mount and the motor mounting screws. In addidion, because it has OSE female 6.5 's on it, I've included three male 6.5's you can use to make adapters.

BTW Rob, don't be shocked by the way it looks. It was the motor in my Squire when the ESC exploded. Everything is straight and it has brand new bearings. It runs about average with the other Scorps I have.

I wanna see a vid where the active canard is working correctly. That would be more impressive than the flip.

We are working on that I just got a micro camera that we are planning on mounting to the rear wing. As I said its not perfect yet it may need a stronger servo to make it more effective. I will post new vids as we get them unfortunately we were unable to test this last weekend due to 30+ mph winds but there will be more to come

For those who wanted to see the active canard work here's a link to a photo sequence that was shot at lake chelan on the very first test run if yo follow the shots you can see it in action.
