    Default Need more information-please

    How about a few pictures showing the set up! We are all looking for the best trim we can get on these boats.
    Like to see your battery placement and drive angle. Looks like your rudder is in the factory location.
    Very nice run..Boomer

    I think this boat likes a prop without a tongue from my experience. If I had a canopy I would be doing more testing.......

    When you chaps are discussing batteries, being a newer enthusiast, I am not clear on the voltages you are using, based on the motor and ESC ratings that come with the Miss G, but not sure.
    I understand the mah, but have not seen any 28C batteries yet. It would be great to see the full part number spelled out. I am sure it would be helpful to others at my level.
    I am sure you all know what you are saying, but I don't, so I would appreciate your help in better understanding the "lingo"
    I don't understand a prop without a tongue? I am sure once I understand the reference I will get it.
    Thank you

    Default Maybe worth a try

    Try getting a different prop strut, or extending it. Just a though but ive had a problem like this once. That wah wah wah is horrible! I extended the prop strut about a half an inch farther off the back of the hull using a bracket i made. Making the flex cable a stitch longer tho... Just making the prop stick a little farther out from the back helped keep the rear planted some taking the bounce out of the front. IMHO. Kinda like a long stinger strut is the best way i can describe it, but with a regular prop strut.

    Ok boom on the batteries most are 20 25 30 35 40c and so on. Some manufacturers have numbers like 28c. On the prop the forwardmost edge that enters the water first is the tongue. It has the lowest pitch of the whole prop and slows down top speed in most cases. Look on here at the sharpened and balanced props. Look at the pictures between the x442 and m440. You will see that the "m" is missing the front area that the "x" series has. Thats the tongue. Hope this helps.

    So are you saying that "M" style props are faster then an "X" style? Or that a de-tounged prop prop is better period. m440 is also smaller diameter then the x442 or was that just a reference.

    Read carefully. I was saying that a detounged prop will generally yeild higher speed. The two props were merely for a visual comparison.

    Thank you. Got the prop deal. Still hoping folks will provide complete battery call outs. I understand what each segment of the description means, but I am not sure what some of boys are running when they say. 6s or 4s?? I get the 6 cells or 2 cells but what voltage, or mah's. (Parallel or series would be nice to know as well)
    Examples of complete battery description
    30C 5000mah 2S 7.4V or 25C 500mah 3S 11.1V and in series or parallel. Knowing this would be very helpful! At least to me...................
    Thanks in advance to those willing to educate one of the "dimly lit" amongst you.

    Eventually, it will make sense, took me awhile too.

    2s = 7.4
    3s = 11.1
    4s = 14.8 (Could mean 2 packs wired serial, or 1 big pack 14.8 volts wired serial internally)

    2s2p = 7.4volts running 2 packs

    4s2p = 14.8volts running two 14.8 volt packs parallel. This effectively doubles your capacity. So, if have two 5000mah batteries, I have 10,000 mah at 14.8 volts.

    With the same two packs I could wire it this way:
    8s1p - 29.6 volts this would be two packs wired serial. Two 14.8 volt packs. You would have 5,000mah only with 29.6 volts

    OR

    8s2p- 29.6 volts this would be two 8s packs wired parallel. You would have two packs(2p) each of the packs would be 8s(29.6volts each)

    OR
    OR
    OR..

    The thing that still gets me is the two packs serial like on a SV or something. I just say 4s1p. Which can be two 7.4volts packs wired serial or 1 big pack with 14.8volts. Essentially, the 14.8 pack is wired the way you did the two 7.4 volt packs internally. Same result.

    Gosh, I hope I got this all correct...chuckle... Sometimes for clarity I just state what it is. I have two packs with a total of x voltage. Pretty much tells the story in English.

    Thank you, and this is very insightful! I will read it a few times to digest it completely. I have more questions on motor selection.
    But will study this info before moving on to that one.
    Thank you
