Question MHZ FOUNTAIN and CASTLE 1717 1580kV

Because very low prices from Castle Creations I bought a 1717 1580kV motor and I' m looking for a deep vee hull capable to work with this motor.

MHZ FOUNTAIN 39" should be fine with 6S 1P or 2P batteries, what do you think guys?

    Technical Details:
    Length: 980 mm (39 inch)
    Width: 215 mm (8.5 inch)
    Weight: 745 g (26.3 oz)

I think it will work fine with a smaller-ish prop. Definetly 6s2p. The new 200amp LV esc that OSE will be stocking in the next couple of months should work well with this motor too.

    Alfa,

That is a very nice hull, looks like you and Jesse will have to have a build off, if you both end up getting the same hull. I'll be watching closely.

Ya baby, you know what they say about great minds, cheap Castle motors and sweets boats... Alfa, I hooked up my 1717 to the water cooled outrunner motor mount I got from Williams Racing and it fits perfectly, you could get one (be sure you get 25 mm bolt spacing) for a little cheaper that isn't water cooled - probably don't need it.

I don't have my hull yet, but will start me a build thread - will be great to compare notes as we go. Yep I was thinking 6S2P and 45-47 mm prop - probably won't be able to go much more w/o heat issues.

I might have to copy you guys too. I just cant find a realistic stepped Fountain anywhere in this size range. So...Dragon Lady is looking good for a winter build. Anxious to see wich drives you guys are going to use.

The flex shaft has a square end that slips into the square female end of the black propshaft, which in turn slips into the stinger from the rear. Stock hardware from the HK osprey!

Douggie, the main idea here is that you can adjust the strut in 2d instead of the usual 1D. Decent thing if you want to get rid of some of the torque effects... but then again you can offset the strut from the beginning...
Anyway, Trimax and MTC are usually designed for gas boats, so big wires...

Wich size Trimax is that? I dont see that one on MHZ w/ that brass fitting on top. I am tossing around the idea of twins in this thing. Those SSM#6 drives look awesome but are too big and expensive.

The hexes on each of the three rods are threaded left and right hand thread, so you can lengthen and shorten the rods by turning the hex (without removing them). By turning the hexes you change the rod length and in turn change the strut angle.

Is that what you were looking for?

Guys, I just spoke with Lowe at MHZ and I want a white hull. He has yellow in stock and is willing to shoot a batch of white if he has enough interest. Can you let me know if you guys are looking for white Dragon ladys?
    Thanks,

The Castle 1717 arrived in France, MHZ Dragon Lady Fountain should be at home at the end october

I was looking to MHZ Racemaster but I really like de Fountain design, what do you suggest for the rudder: center or on the right side? Or may be two rudders?

    Alpha,

The MTC powertrimm V is very nice. I would invest in one if they were easy to buy.

Alpha, yes the pwertrimm is too short for the fountain hull, you need at least 10cm length for the fountain like this https://www.mtc-powerboat.de/index.p...n=13&produkt=1

The difference of lenght between those 2 parts is only 1cm. I' m not sure this is important, this centimètre is expensive
Lenght of stinger is approx. 10% of hull' s lenght, is it right?

How many rudders? One or two,
