Well, the deep vee will be a MHZ Dragon Lady Elektro white gelcoat finish. The Castle is a high torque motor, with 5S the Castle 1717 will take 29000 RPM unload
I' ve got 5S batteries What do you think about that setup for the 39" Fountain deep vee? Thanks

30000 RPM is just fine for a deep vee hull, a catamaran needs more, 35000 RPM.

@ JMSCARD, What' s your hull for the Castle 1717 ?

Any boat will benefit from more rpm if set up correctly. Especially monos where prop walk induced by larger props is more of a factor.

The Castle 1717 is a 1580kV 4 poles motor, 6S can be an option with a 540XL motor, but the 1717 is a monster with high torque...
    May be I' m wrong (??)

Have a look to this video. Same MHZ Fountain hull.
Setup : Batteries 4S 2P parallel, motor KB45 8L (2200kV), esc HiModel GX200, prop X642. It was the first run

I dont get why you think 6s isn't an option on this motor. It will hold up better than a Feigao 540xl on 6s. High torque, maybe, depends on what you're comparing it to. Neu 22 series would have more torque and run on10-12s kv dependant obviously. I've ran the 1717 on 5 and 6s. It does well either way. Bigger prop on 5s, smaller on 6s. Depending on speed goals, and hull one may work better than the other. On my H&M Drifter L, It liked 6s with a slightly smaller prop.
