Default MHZ Racemaster with Castle 1717

May be I will order a Castle 1717 that' s a very good deal but 1580kV is very high, This motor can work on 6S, no more is it right?
With 8S 1717, 46868 RPM unload is it too much ?

    I' m looking to a MHZ Racemaster 987mm - 38,85" , 6S setup is enough? Thanks

I am in the same boat, get it? (I kill myself). I have received my 1717 and it is very burly, but I don't think I will be putting it in a mono/cat larger than 36", 34" even better. Yes, 6S will be the upper limit on this motor and if it is having to work hard will pull lots o amps. Given that one will probably need to go 2P with boat this size, we are talking pretty good weight and probably the need for a lower KV possibly bigger motor. I am concerned with the upper limit on prop diameter with a boat more than 36".. more will chime in I am sure, but this is my gut feeling.

I'd say go for it. On 6s that is. Just because the motor is so inexpensive. If it doesn't perform like you want, it was what only 60 bucks or so. I'll be using 2 1717's on 6s in a 43"cat soon.

It is a narrow and light hull (1.3 kgr empty). 1717 will be OK but I think that the 1520 will be OK too, maybe less amps with the 1520 because of smaller size.

i am also thinking about this hull but i am concered about the width..8 inches..is this boat going to handle poorly because of this? and will this hull handle the leopard 5692 or a 2215 on 10s?

Im running the 1717 on 6s in my Genesis with a T-180, replaced my leopard 4082, man is it fast, havent gps it yet but with the leopard she went 61mph with a 48mm prop and i think im running 5mph's faster. Id say go for it but thats just my 2 cents......

I still have not tested and pushed the boat hard enough only a couple of "mild" tests. The 2215 will be too much I think. The boat empty weight is only 1.3 kgr, 2.9 lb. Very light but veery strong.
MHZ states that they reached 100 kph (63 mph) with a Lehner 1950 on 6s, 43000 rpm

    I had run a Neu 1527 1.5D on 6s and spun a X450/3. (Unloaded 33300 rpm)
Changed motor to a Neu 1521 1Y on 6s and can still spin a X450/3 but propped down to a X447/3. (Unloaded 35009 rpm)
From what I have seen you are much better off running a Neu or Castle Neu 1518 1Y on 6s and keep prop size down to a X442/3. (Unloaded 39960 rpm)
Don't let the length of this hull make you think it is a big boat.
If the beam was much wider I would say it is.
Racemaster hulls get out of the hole very easily and turn with ease but don't prop to big as the torque power of the motor will barrel roll it.
I don't believe this boat would make for a 10s set up, But I am sure someone will try it out for size.

Here is a Racemaster with twin setup, high speed and nice sound

For my Fountain I will run first 5S 2P with the CC 1717: 30000RPM unload. If the result isn' t very good I' ll go for 6S 2P, 35000RPM

I' ve got a question about rudder, one inline or not? Two rudders? ThX
